The district will continue to resume a traditional full day schedule, including lunch, on all regular student attendance days.  School hours will follow the regular school day hours listed below: 

9th Grade Students  
7:20 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. 

10th, 11th and 12th Grade Students 
8:20 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. 

Remote learning is only available to students who are required to be excluded due to COVID 19. 

• All students are provided district laptops for the 2022-2023 school year. 

• Students will be able to join classes virtually while excluded due to COVID-19. 

• If students join classes virtually, they will not be marked absent for that class period. 

Schools are not required to conduct contact tracing; therefore, JTHS will not be conducting contact tracing during the 2022-2023 school year. 

• JTHS will notify the Local Health Department (Will County) of any known or suspected cases of COVID-19, as required by State law. 

• Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms will be excluded from school/work for five (5) calendar days as required.   

• JTHS will not exclude asymptomatic close contacts.   

• JTHS encourages the use of at-home tests for families and staff for individuals exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.

• As additional guidance is received, JTHS will update requirements and procedures. 

The CDC recommends, but does not mandate, universal indoor masking in communities with high COVID-19 levels.  Currently, there is no federal or state mask mandate in place.  Students and Staff are allowed to wear masks in all JTHS settings during the 2022-2023 school year.   
 

Below are the 2020-2023 Air Quality Improvements: 

• Bi-Polar Ionization systems have been installed at both Joliet Central and Joliet West. 

• Outdoor Air Quality Test completed to ensure balanced outside air flow at both campuses. 

• JTHS is continuing with projects to increase air quality in all buildings within the district. 

• Bi-Polar Ionization systems have been installed at both Joliet Central and Joliet West. 

• Central Auditorium 

• 2nd Floor B Building at West Campus 

• Weight Room at West Campus 

• Auditorium (HVAC Units) at West Campus 

Below are Cleaning & Sanitation Enhancements: 

• Enhanced Joliet West Custodial Equipment 

• Enhanced Joliet Central Custodial Equipment 

• Touchless Plumbing/Water Fountains Fixtures – Central

• Touchless Plumbing/Water Fountains Fixtures – West

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available throughout the district

• The district will continue to retain the 4 Custodial positions that were added during the 2021-2022 school year.
