Student Volunteer Opportunity – Mt. Assisi Clean Up May 18 
Students and community volunteers are needed to clean up the area at Mt. Assisi from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 18, at 13900 Main Street in Lemont.  Volunteers should bring gloves and gardening tools if they have them.  To sign up to volunteer, email Ms. Gomez at fatimavillagomez@stfrancis.edu or call/text (815) 302-2983.  Parents must complete a Permission Form for their student to participate.  Bring the Community Service Form with you and have it signed so that your service is documented.  For more information view the flyer. 
 
Summer School Session 2 Registration 
Summer school takes place at Joliet Central High School with Session 1 (June 3 – June 22) and Session 2 (June 24 – July 29).  Session 2 credit recovery courses are still available until Thursday, June 6. Planet Fitness Free Summer Pass for teens Ages 14-19 
Planet Fitness is offering teens ages 14-19 a free summer pass from June 1 to August 31.  View the Free Summer Pass Flyer for the link to sign up. 

Free Summer Meals for Children 18 and Under  
Free meals are available during the summer to all children 18 and under regardless of income level.  This Illinois State Board of Education program has several Joliet-area sites that offer breakfast, lunch, or both.  For more information, call (800) 359-2163, text FOODIL to 877877 or visit www.SummerMealsIllinois.org.  View the Summer Meal Flyer for more information. 
 
Fairmont Community Partnership Group Summer Mentoring Program 
Fairmont Community Partnership Group is offering a Summer Mentoring Program to youth ages 10-18.  The program includes college and career exploration, life skills, games, sports, field trips, guest speakers, and more.  Lunch and snacks are provided.  For more information, including the QR to register, view the English Flyer or Spanish Flyer. 
 
Joliet Central Spring Band Concert – May 19 
The Joliet Central Spring Band Concert is May 19 at 3 p.m. in the Joliet Central Auditorium.  The Spring Band Concert will feature senior soloists and senior student conductors. Band scholarship recipients will be honored at the concert.  For more information, visit www.jolietcentralbands.org. 

Will County Back to School Fair – Registration Begins May 20 at 8 AM 
The 32nd Annual Will County Back to School Fair, coordinated by Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet, is scheduled for 2 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. Mary Immaculate, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield. This annual summer event is a countywide effort to help low-income families access school supplies and receive information from supporting service agencies to begin the school year on a positive note.  The event will be a contact-free drive-thru school supply distribution.  Everyone seeking assistance with school supplies must pre-register online starting at 8 a.m. on May 20, 2024, at https://catholiccharitiesjoliet.org/back-to-school-fair-will-county/.  View the Flyer for additional details. 

JTHS Board of Education Meeting – May 21 
The next Board of Education meeting is 7 p.m. on May 21 at the Administrative Center.  Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting.  Meetings are live-streamed. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m.  
 
JTHS Foundation Golf Outing June 13 
Join the JTHS Foundation for their 23rd Annual Wadsworth Golf Outing on Thursday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at Inwood Golf Club. Golf Outing Volunteers Are Needed!  
Students, staff, and alumni volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will help in a variety of areas, including registration, raffles, hole monitors/subs, and other tasks as needed.  To sign up to volunteer, email Ms. Hunt at kmhunt@jths.org.
