Student Volunteer Opportunity at Sator Sanchez Elementary School – Sign Up Now 
JTHS is pleased to share a volunteer opportunity on behalf of the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) in collaboration with Joliet Public Schools District 86. BPAC has invited JTHS students to assist with their upcoming end-of-year celebration at Sator Sanchez Elementary School on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. Student volunteers will help with event setup, assist with educational activities during the event, and support cleanup at the end of the evening. The celebration will include folkloric dances, family activities, and fun giveaways for the community. If you are interested and available to help, please fill out the May 1 Sator Sanchez Elementary School Volunteer Sign-Up Form. If you have questions, please email Ms. Erika Diaz at ediaz@joliet86.org. View the Event Flyer for more information. 
 
Build the Future of Your City by Attending the 2026 Future Leaders in Planning Program
Students interested in leadership, city planning, or community advocacy are invited to apply for the 2026 Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) Summer Program hosted by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). This free program gives high school students the opportunity to explore how communities grow and improve through interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and field trips with professionals across the region. The in-person program will take place June 23–26 and June 30, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at CMAP’s office located in at 433 W. Van Buren St. in Chicago. The program includes meals, materials, and a public transportation stipend. The application deadline is Friday, May 1 at 11:59 p.m. To learn more about the program, click here. Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) Nights – April 13 & 16 
We invite students and families interested in our Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) programs to join us for an evening of insight and preparation for the 2026-2027 school year. This event is designed to provide a comprehensive look at what it means to be part of our AP Program. We will go beyond just discussing "workload" to ensure students and families have a clear roadmap for success. The informational sessions are scheduled for April 13 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Joliet Central Auditorium and April 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Joliet West Auditorium. Although the event will be featured at both campuses, families can attend either session. More information can be found by clicking here.  

Mandatory State Testing – April 15-16 
Mandatory state testing will take place on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16. Students will follow a special schedule. Schedules will vary by grade level and the start time for all students will begin at 8:20 a.m. All bus routes will follow a later morning bus schedule. For more information about mandatory testing, please click here. Please review the bus routes below for your pickup time.

JT Athletic Boosters Night of Champions – April 16 
The JT Athletic Boosters invites parents, staff, alumni, and the community to the 20th Annual Night of Champions on Thursday, April 16 at IBEW 176 Hall, 1100 NE Frontage Road in Joliet. The annual event celebrates individuals who made significant contributions to JTHS athletic programs and raises funds to benefit athletics.  For ticket information and to learn more, view the announcement

JTHS Board of Education Meeting – April 21  
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on April 21 at the Administrative CenterAgendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting. Meetings are live-streamed. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m. 

Early Release School Improvement Day – April 23 
April 23 is School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the “B” Schedule. Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Click on the links below to view the attendance calendar.

Joliet Region Education Community Connectors Meeting (JRECC) – April 24 
Members of community and faith-based organizations are invited to attend our next Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) Meeting on April 24 at the JTHS Administrative Center, 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet. Breakfast is available at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will conclude no later than 10 a.m. Spanish interpretation is available. Attendees will hear an informative presentation from the Joliet Community and Village of Shorewood YMCA, along with a presentation from Superintendent Dr. Karla Guseman regarding “What’s on the Horizon” for the future of JTHS. Complete the JRECC Meeting RSVP Form if you will attend. 

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion at Joliet West – April 29 
Joliet West will be offering hands on assistance for families wishing to complete the FAFSA application on Wednesday, April 29 from 5 – 7 p.m. This event is open to all campuses. Families can park in any available school parking lot and enter through door 5 located off Glenwood Drive. For more information, view the FAFSA Event Flyer. 

Free Tax Preparation – through April  
The Joliet Township Government Office, in partnership with the Will County Center for Community Concerns, is providing free income tax preparation services for residents whose income was less than $67,000 during 2025 and free to all seniors regardless of income. JTHS Foundation Golf Outing – June 4 
On June 4, the JTHS Foundation will host the 25th Annual Brent Wadsworth Alumni Golf Outing. The event is open to alumni, staff, business partners, and community members. All proceeds support grants for District 204 students and staff, scholarships for deserving seniors at both campuses, the principal’s emergency fund, summer school support, and ACT and PSAT testing assistance.
