Scholarships are listed by month according to deadlines for submission. Keep in mind that the more scholarships you apply to the better the odds are that you’ll win one. Make sure you are reading the scholarship eligibility criteria very carefully! You don’t want to waste time and effort applying for scholarship you do not qualify for. Scholarships with narrower criteria, lower the amount of applicants and could potentially give you better odds of winning.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship

Description: The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. The application will open on September 6, 2018.

The Great Scholarship Program

Description: The annual Great Scholarship Program, given in memory of Alice Madden Barton to help students along their path to a successful and rewarding career in the field of Cosmetology. The local Great Clips salon owners who evaluate and select winners will determine award values based on the number of applicants, available funds, and other factors.


Conservation Education Scholarship

Description: Applicant must live within the boundaries of Will County or South Cook County. Must be a high school senior or graduate (diploma or GED). Leopold Education Project Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors currently enrolled in high school and who live within Boone, Cook, DeKalb, Kane, Lake McHenry, Will or Winnebago counties. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must planning to study at an accredited two or four-year college or university and major in a program of study that will lead into a career in natural resources.

WACE National Co-op Scholarship Program

Description: Eligible seniors must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, apply for the 2019-2020 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed on the website and meet other merit scholarship criteria as established by the institution(s) selected on the application.

University of St. Francis MERIT Scholarship

Description: The MERIT Scholarship provides scholarships for qualifying students of color who major in education at USF. MERIT Scholarship recipients are required to teach in a Joliet school for either four years (Joliet Township High School seniors planning to attend USF for four years) or two years (Joliet Junior College students planning to transfer to USF for two years). Scholars are selected based on qualities that indicate their potential to become exemplary teachers.

The MERIT Scholarship is a partnership between USF, Joliet Township High School District 204, Joliet Public Schools District 86, Joliet Junior College, and the Joliet community. It is intended to help recruit, prepare, place, and induct a new generation of teachers of color for Joliet’s schools.

Voice of Democracy

Description: Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 40,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of $2.1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
