Scholarships are listed by month according to deadlines for submission. Keep in mind that the more scholarships you apply to the better the odds are that you’ll win one. Make sure you are reading the scholarship eligibility criteria very carefully! You don’t want to waste time and effort applying for scholarship you do not qualify for. Scholarships with narrower criteria, lower the amount of applicants and could potentially give you better odds of winning.

We welcome applicants who are attending ANY type of educational program beyond high school, which includes “traditional” colleges, vocational ,and technical educational programs. We’ve tried to make it as simple and as straight forward as possible. Just submit a few documents and a short video telling us about your future plans and how you would benefit from the Streitz Dental Academic Scholarship! Applicants must be current high school seniors, recent high school graduates, or currently enrolled in post-high school education.



AES Engineering Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility.  You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  

Wendy's High School Heisman

Description: Eligible seniors must have maintained at least a B average, participate in at least one school-sponsored sport, is a leader in the community and role model in school.

Horatio Alger Scholarship  
Closing Date: October 25, 2018

Description: Eligible students must be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the U.S. with plans to enter college no later than the Fall semester following graduation; exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution in the U.S.; demonstrate critical financial need; be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; hold a minimum grade point average of 2.0; and be a U.S. citizen. 

Voice of Democracy

Description: Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 40,000 9-12 grade students from across the country enter to win their share of $2.1 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.

Description: Most Valuable Student Scholarship – Any high school senior who is a US Citizen may apply.  Applications are judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Application period begins Aug 15, 2018. 

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
Closing Date: November 20, 2018

Description: The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. The application will open on September 6, 2018. 




WACE National Co-op Scholarship Program 
Closing Date: February 15, 2019

Description: Eligible seniors must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, apply for the 2019-2020 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed on the website and meet other merit scholarship criteria as established by the institution(s) selected on the application.


Patricia Johnson Scholarship

Description: Must be a senior planning to attend a college or university after graduation. The Patricia Johnson Scholarship is awarded annually by JAY (The Greater Joliet Area Alliance for Youth). 


JJC Foundation Scholarship for Outstanding Graduates of District High Schools
Amount: Up to $3200
Closing Date: April 1, 2018

Description: This scholarship is based on a 3.25 or higher GPA and a score of 1070 or higher on the SAT/ 21 or higher on the ACT. Additionally, a transcript and signed counselor form are required. Both forms can be uploaded to the student’s scholarship application on Award Spring.

Prior to applying for scholarships, students will need to apply to Joliet Junior College in order to obtain a student identification number and JJC email address. Students may apply between now and May 1, 2018 for scholarship awards for the Fall2018 semester. For more information click on link and see your counselor.

Contractors Association of Will & Grundy Counties

Description: Applicants must be a son/daughter of an owner or full-time employee of a Contractors Association of Will & Grundy Counties or a son/daughter of a Will/Grundy union building tradesman. Applicants must also have at least a “C” average. As part of the application, students will need to submit their high school transcripts with ACT scores, an essay, two letters of recommendation and a resume. Kids Chance of Illinois

Description: Eligible students must have a parent who has been killed or seriously injured as a result of a work-related accident that meets the criteria of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act and that has resulted in demonstrated financial need.  Applicant must be accepted as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited university, college or technical school.

Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship Program
