Scholarships

Scholarships are listed by month according to deadlines for submission. Keep in mind that the more scholarships you apply to the better the odds are that you’ll win one. Make sure you are reading the scholarship eligibility criteria very carefully! You don’t want to waste time and effort applying for scholarship you do not qualify for. Scholarships with narrower criteria, lower the amount of applicants and could potentially give you better odds of winning.

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors currently enrolled in high school and who live within Boone, Cook, DeKalb, Kane, Lake McHenry, Will or Winnebago counties. Description: The MERIT Scholarship provides scholarships for qualifying students of color who major in education at USF. MERIT Scholarship recipients are required to teach in a Joliet school for either four years (Joliet Township High School seniors planning to attend USF for four years) or two years (Joliet Junior College students planning to transfer to USF for two years). Scholars are selected based on qualities that indicate their potential to become exemplary teachers.

The MERIT Scholarship is a partnership between USF, Joliet Township High School District 204, Joliet Public Schools District 86, Joliet Junior College, and the Joliet community. It is intended to help recruit, prepare, place, and induct a new generation of teachers of color for Joliet’s schools.
