Description: The Exchange Club of Joliet would like to invite one deserving senior class member to enter our Youth of the Year Scholarship contest.

Each year our club offers scholarships in the amount of $1,250.00 to first place, $1,000.00 second place, $750.00 third place and $500.00 for fourth place.  The first place winner will be entered in the state competition – The Lincolnland District Exchange Club Youth of the Year Competition.  The state winner will then be entered into the National Exchange Club Youth of the Year and that winner will receive a $10,000.00 scholarship.

Each competing student must complete a four-page entry form and write an essay.  This year's essay them is "HOW AM I A CATALYST IN MY COMMUNITY".  The completed and signed entry form, essay and a photo (head and shoulders) must be submitted by mail to Linda Erickson, 25336 West Lockport St., Plainfield, IL  60544, by April 15, 2019.

Our club will hold an awards luncheon on May 7, 2019, at Al's Steakhouse, 1990 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL, at noon.  The students, parents and counselors are invited to attend at the club's expense for the presentation.  Any additional people attending would pay for their meals.  At that time each student will be introduced and will read their essay and the scholarships will be awarded.

Description:  The Latino Bar Association of Will County, established in 2013, is happy to announce that it will be awarding a $1500 scholarship during our Annual Scholarship Fundraiser Event.  This event will take place in June 2019 at the Blue Taco which is located at 79 N. Description: The Dr. Daniel Gutierrez Scholarship aims to strengthen the local community by advancing post-secondary education among Hispanic students. Recipients of the HLC scholarship are required to:

  • Be of Hispanic/Latino descent;
  • Be enrolled in a Will or Grundy County High School as a senior or enrolled as a college freshman;
  • Be admitted or enrolled in a 2 or 4 year institution or trade school that is accredited.
  • A letter of acceptance must be submitted before a scholarship will be awarded.
  • Have a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent);
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal United States Resident or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals(DACA) status.

Description: Zonta International's YWPA Award recognizes young women, ages 16-19, who demonstrate superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service and civic causes, and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life. 

Ten (10) international scholarships of US$4,000 each and up to 32 district/region scholarships of US$1,500 each are awarded each year. Applications must be submitted through a Zonta club.

Description: In 1989, "Service Above Self" was established as the principal motto of the Rotary International because it best conveys the philosophy of unselfish volunteer service. The student applicants will be asked to describe how they incorporate "Service" into their everyday life and why they feel it is important to do so.

These scholarships may be used for tuition only at any accredited college or university.

Description: The African American - Employee Resource Group (AAA-ERG) seeks to identify minority high school seniors who have an interest in pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) as an academic curriculum.  Applicants must have excelled academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential both in and outside of the classroom and demonstrate need for financial assistance.  The applicants must be US citizens and residents of the Chicago-land or surrounding areas.  Current college students are not eligible.
