To prepare for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 19, students and their parents/guardians should attend the Welcome Back Steelmen event to pick up class schedules, IDs, bus schedules, purchase PE uniforms, receive important information for the upcoming school year, and more.  Assistance completing the free and reduced lunch application will also be available. The event will take place at Joliet Central High School on August 4, 2025, through August 7, 2025, by grade level and last name.  Enter the building through door J on Eastern Avenue.

The Welcome Back Steelmen event schedule is below.  Students should attend on their designated date and time to help reduce the flow of foot traffic in our building; however, families with students in various grade levels can attend together on a single day. Welcome Back Steelmen Event August 4 -7, Freshman Orientation & Health Reminders

Incoming Freshmen Orientation
Freshman students are invited to attend the Freshman Orientation on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Visit Joliet Central & West Incoming Freshman Orientation to Register. Transportation will be provided for students who live 1.5 miles away from campus. If you have questions regarding transportation, please call 815-727-6873. We look forward to seeing all our new freshmen at the event!
 
Health Requirements for Freshmen, Seniors & Transfer Students
As a reminder, incoming freshmen and transfer students must submit the completed. Incoming seniors require documentation of one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine on or after their 16th birthday. Additional information regarding vaccine requirements can be found HERE. Incoming freshmen, seniors, and transfer students who have not already turned in the required state-mandated proof of immunization must do so by the first day of school scheduled for August 19, 2025. State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination Form. Incoming seniors require documentation of one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine on or after their 16th birthday. Additional information regarding vaccine requirements can be found HERE.
