Dear Parents and Students, 
 
Produce Giveaway – Monday, May 17 
All families are welcome to pick up produce items at Joliet Central on Monday, May 17 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.  This is drive thru contactless pickup.  The Produce Giveaway is made possible thanks to generous sponsorship from the Visitation & Aid Society of Joliet. 
 
Summer Meal Distribution 
The last day of meal distribution for the 2020-2021 school year is Thursday, May 27.  Starting Monday, June 7 JTHS will follow the distribution schedule below.

Vaccine Clinic for 12 and Older at Joliet West May 17 
Vaccines for Will County residents ages 12 and older are available at no cost at the Joliet West Campus Vaccine Clinic on Monday, May 17.  The second dose is June 7. Appointments begin at 4:30 p.m.  Students younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to obtain the vaccine.

Parent/Guardian COVID Vaccine Interest Survey 
If your 12 to 18 year old student would like to receive the COVID vaccine at Central Campus, please complete this interest form by 3 p.m. on Monday, May 17.  This will help the Will County Health Department Plan a community clinic.  We will communicate the clinic dates and times when they are available.  The clinic will be open to all 12 to 18 year olds residing in Will County.  Please feel free to share this interest survey with others who have children in this age group as they are welcome to receive the vaccine at this clinic.  
 
Camp NAWIC Summer Construction Camp for JTHS High School Girls of all Ages   
A free summer camp is available to JTHS high school girls of all ages interested in the construction industry.  The camp takes place in-person at Joliet Central High School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 21-24.  Transportation is provided to the student’s home campus and students from all JTHS campuses are invited to attend.  The camp is facilitated by NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) and includes hands-on activities, access to architects and engineers, and more. To register and for more information, visit our Camp NAWIC Webpage.  Spots are limited and filled on a first come, first served basis.  
 
TRIO Summer Program 2021 
Our Joliet Junior College community partner, TRIO, is offering a free summer program to JTHS high school students of all ages, including incoming freshmen and graduating seniors.  The three-week program begins June 7 and includes topics such as college readiness, financial literacy, career exploration and much more. The TRIO Summer Bridge also includes free meals, a free t-shirt as well as fun educational field trips.  Students will receive up to $180 for program participation.  Participants must be registered for TRIO and must complete a Summer Bridge application by May 25.

Curbside Family Support Day – May 15 
This Saturday, May 15, a free Curbside Family Support Day is taking place in the Gompers/Singleton parking lot. Free groceries, hygiene/household supplies, and health care, housing and education materials are available. Families MUST be pre-registered to attend. Save the Date - 29th Annual Will County Back to School Fair August 5 
The 29th Annual Will County Back to School Fair, coordinated by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet is scheduled for Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.  - 6:00 p.m. at Joliet Catholic Academy, 1200 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet. This annual summer event is a major countywide effort to help low-income families access important services to begin the school year on a positive note.

JTHS Foundation Golf Outing June 17 
Join the JTHS Foundation for their 20th Annual Wadsworth Golf Outing on Thursday, June 17 at Inwood Golf Club, 3200 W Jefferson Street in Joliet.  The event includes a fun-filled day packed with golf, food, games and prizes.  All proceeds benefit JTHS students and staff. Community Job Board 
The JTHS website has a Community Job Board where local employers can share employment opportunities.  Recently added opportunities include a Fed Ex hiring event this weekend and more.
