Dear Parents & Students, 
 
We wish you a safe and enjoyable summer!  The first day of student attendance for the 2023-2024 school year is Wednesday, August 16.  Summer opportunities and resources are below. 
 
Semester 2 Report Cards  
Report Cards will be posted to Campus Parent and Campus Student at 3:30 p.m. today. Instructions for viewing report cards are available in English and Spanish.  If you need assistance, contact a Central Campus Family Liaison or West Campus Family Liaison.

Student Summer Community Service Opportunities 
JTHS requires forty hours of documented community service for graduation.  Summer is a great time to complete community service.  Opportunities for community service can be found on the Summer Community Service Opportunity Announcements webpage.  Students should bring a copy of the Community Service Form when they volunteer so that service hours are documented. 
 
Summer School
Summer school takes place at Joliet West High School with Session 1 (June 5 – June 22) and Session 2 (June 26 – July 20).  Classes are available for credit recovery and advancement.  For more information, including the link to register for Session 2, visit the 2023 Summer School Webpage
 
Free Food Giveaway Event in Downtown Joliet on May 27
A free food giveaway event is taking place on Saturday, May 27, at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Street, from 9 a.m. until noon, or while supplies last.  The event is open to anyone in need of fresh food.  Attendees will have the opportunity to drive up and volunteers will pack their vehicle with groceries in the Will County Office Building parking lot. No registration or pre-approval is required. Attendees are asked to enter the parking lot from Scott Street, which is a one-way street from the south. Labor of Love Summer Food Pantries
Weekly food pantries are available to the community. View the Labor of Love Food Pantry Locations for more information.  Contact Regina White at rwhite@jths.org if you have questions. 
 
Free Summer Meals for Children 18 and Under

Free meals are available during the summer to all children 18 and under, regardless of income level.  This Illinois State Board of Education program has several Joliet-area sites that offer breakfast, lunch, or both.  For more information, call (800) 359-2163, text FOODIL to 877877 or visit www.SummerMealsIllinois.org. 
 
Summer Internship Opportunities – Don’t Miss Out!

Paid summer internships are available to JTHS students.  Applications are still being accepted.  Summer internships opportunities and application forms can be accessed via the Summer Internship Webpage.  If you have questions about summer internships, contact Ms. Clark at (815) 774-1692 or sclark@jths.org.  

JTHS Board of Education Meeting – June 20
The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is 7 p.m. on June 20 at the Administrative Center. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours prior to the meeting HERE. Meetings are live streamed HERE. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m.  Spanish interpretation is provided.
