Prerequisite Registration Information:

• State Law requires that students pass at least eight (8) courses during the previous two (2) High School semesters prior to enrollment.
• District policy requires students be at least 15 years of age by the first day of class (based on session the student is enrolling in).
• The earliest students can take Drivers Education at Joliet Central is the Summer after their Freshmen year based on District policy.
• If you need Behind The Wheel only, you must prove classroom completion, e.g., report card.
   

Registration Process:

• The Permit to Enroll form will be available at 8AM on the 1^st day of Registration on The Driver’s Education Website.
  • The Permit to Enroll form is to be completed by Student or parent/guardian of students interested in Driver's Education.
  • Be sure to know Student ID # prior to filling out the form.
• You will be notified through the email after the registration window closes if you have been given a seat in one of the courses during this term.
• Seating is limited. Submitting the form DOES NOT guarantee that you will be enrolled in the course. Priority is given to upperclassmen, those who submit this form in a timely manner within the registration window, your chosen preference for days the course will run, and meeting the minimum requirements.

The Joliet Township High School Driver Education is a three-phase program designed to help novice drivers develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to become safe, low-risk, responsible drivers.

3 Phase Driver’s Education Program

 ***Students need to PASS all 3 phases of Drivers Education***

Parents are responsible for a minimum of 50 hours of supervised driving (of which 10 hours must be night driving) with their son/daughter and to record this on their 50 hour driving log which is to be turned in when the student obtains his/her license.

Driver Education - Full Class

• In-District: $ 250.00
• Out-of-District:  $ 350.00        

Driver Education - Repeat BTW ONLY

• In-District:  $ 175.00
• Out-of-District:  $ 275.00

Driver Education - Repeat Classroom ONLY

• In-District:  $ 150.00
• Out-of-District:  $ 200.00

Please note: Juniors and Seniors who qualify for a district fee waiver will get the driver education fee waived.  All other students must pay the driver education fee
