MyPantryExpress.org offers a variety of free grocery items such as fresh produce, dairy products, frozen meats, canned items, and more. These items can be picked up from Northern Illinois Food Bank’s South Suburban Center in Joliet on Larkin on Wednesday evenings and no income or residency restrictions apply. - Non-Regulatory Guidance on Immigration Enforcement Actions. It includes information on the rights of students as well as the legal obligations of schools under both state and federal law. Key highlights include:
- The rights of all children in the U.S. to receive a basic public education, regardless of immigration status.
- The need for school districts to adopt policies that protect students from undue discrimination, harassment, and fear related to immigration enforcement.
- Guidance on how to respond to immigration enforcement actions on school grounds, including information on handling federal court warrants, ICE administrative warrants, and subpoenas.
- Illinois Immigration Information Hub, a comprehensive website designed in partnership between leading immigrant serving organizations and local and state government to empower immigrants with reliable immigration-related information and guidance. Among other resources, the site offers:

Will County Health Department Immunization Clinic
Will County Health Department has three locations throughout Will County. All Will County residents are eligible to receive immunizations from the clinic. School and sports physicals are also available at certain locations. Medicaid and Medicare and limited private insurance plans are accepted. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, a low-cost immunization option may be available. The clinics are unable to accommodate walk-ins. Families can contact the main line at 815-740-8143 to schedule an appointment at the location most convenient for them.

VNA Health Care
VNA Health Care has various health centers that offer school and sports physicals with three locations in Will County. VNA Health Care offers a complete range of routine vaccines, immunizations, and school and sports physicals including an eye exam, hearing test, dental exam, illnesses screening, and mental health support. VNA Health Care accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. Even if you don’t have any insurance, VNA Health Care will not refuse service to students due to a lack of payments. VNA Health Care is a not-for-profit healthcare organization with a mission to improve access to quality care among underserved communities in the suburban Chicago area. Lightways (formerly Joliet Area Community Hospice) provides free grief counseling. grief support. You can request support through their contact form or by calling 815-740-4104.
The Dougy Center has great resources for parents and teens. Tip sheets and additional resources can be accessed on their site in English and Spanish.
The National Mass Violence and Victimization Resource Center has created the Transcend app to help students who have experienced trauma. The Transcend app is free and provides resources and information about common reactions to mass violence and strategies for recovery.
Lifeline Resources
If your child is experiencing a mental health crisis and is in need of immediate services, you can contact the Mobile Crisis Response staff through the CARES line at 800-345-9049. Additional information is available at https://willcountyhealth.org/mobile-crisis-program-mcr/.
You can also find support through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline online or by calling 800-273-8255.
The Crisis Text Line is available 24/7 in English and Spanish. Text HOME or AYUDA to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor.
