The Women in Engineering Programs at UIC offers two opportunities for high school students interested in learning about engineering. Both programs are FREE and an excellent way to gain hands-on experience:

Women in Engineering Summer Program (WIESP 2019)
A four-week, non-residential program, focused on hands-on projects and field trips. This year, our curriculum will focus on bioengineering and electrical & computer engineering. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend.

Days and Time: Monday through Friday, 10am-3pm
Location: UIC Campus
Program Application: go.uic.edu/WIESP2019 (all application materials must be submitted no later than March 29th but it is definitely a plus if students apply early!)
Also, the Women in Engineering office leads Girls Who Code at UIC and has some spots available in the beginner level, which focuses on python programming. The classes will begin on January 26th (every Saturday from 10am-12pm) so if you have any students who may be interested, please encourage them to contact email Ms. Soto, Associate Director, of Women in Engineering Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org. This program is also FREE.
