We are excited to invite all parents, students, and the community to the Community Connections Job & Community Resource Expo on February 20, 2025, at Joliet West High School! Guests should enter the expo through Door 5 (Cafeteria Entrance) off Glenwood Avenue. 

This event promises to be an informative and fun-filled evening, featuring over 40 community resource providers and companies that are hiring. Whether you're looking for a job, resources to support your family, or simply a fun evening out, there's something for everyone!

🎶 Musical Entertainment 
Enjoy live music from the Joliet West Jazz Band from 5 to 6 PM in the Foyer (Door 5) – a great way to set the tone for the evening! 

💼 Job & Community Resource Fair 
Looking to get hired on the spot? Visit the Cafeteria from 5 to 7 PM for a job fair featuring employers and community resource providers.  

🍕 Food & More 
Hungry? Grab a slice of pizza, fresh fruit with Tajín, or granola from Frutas y Gaspachos Lucy, and enjoy coffee from the AVAC Marvelous Coffee Shop – available for purchase in the Cafeteria from 5 to 7 PM. 

🎮 E-Sports Gaming 
For those ages 10 & up, stop by the E-Sports Gaming Room (B114) from 6 to 7 PM to learn more about the club and engage in some exciting video gaming! 

👕 Spirit Wear Sale 
Show your school spirit! Visit the Ken Woody Sports table in the Foyer (Door 5) from 5 to 7 PM to grab your Central & West Spirit Wear. 

📚 Family & Student Empowerment Sessions (6:00 PM to 7:00 PM) 
Attend one of these informative sessions to gain valuable insights and tools for supporting your family’s success. Each session provides a unique focus to help you navigate important topics like substance abuse, summer internships, job interviews, and planning for life after high school. Plus, JTHS students will earn 2 community service hours for attending, and you’ll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win amazing prizes!

• Stronger Together: Family & School Partnership Night (in Spanish) – Join us for a collaborative evening designed to empower families by providing guidance on navigating the educational system and accessing community resources. 

• The Vape Escape: Identifying and Conquering Substance Abuse (English & Spanish) – Learn how to identify the warning signs of substance abuse and gain strategies for having important conversations with your student. 

• Get Paid to Play: Summer Internship Prep & More! – Discover 147 paid summer internship opportunities for JTHS students and get hands-on help with resumes and applications. 

• Nail the Interview: Secrets to Scoring Your Dream Job – Gain the skills and confidence needed to ace your interview and land the job you want. 

• Life After High School - Preparing for Post High School Success (English & Spanish) – Understand graduation milestones, post-high school opportunities, and how to help your student succeed in their next steps after high school.
