Supt. Message – Board of Education Members & Student Opportunities

Dear Parents and Students,

Last night the Board of Education held a special meeting to reorganize and seat new board members.  Please join me in welcoming Ms. Christine Lynn, Ms. Lorraine Guerrero Neumayer, and Mr. David Skorupa as our newest board members, and Jim Allison to the position of Board President, Frank Edmon, Jr. as Vice President, and Michelle Stiff as Secretary and Governing Board Representative for the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB).

School board members volunteer their time to lead the district and serve four-year terms on a staggered basis.  We are grateful for their service.

2021-2022 School Year Calendar
The 2021-2022 school year calendar is posted to the website and can be viewed HERE.  The calendar includes holidays, breaks, graduation, Parent Teacher Conferences, School Improvement Planning (SIP) days, Teacher Institutes, and Emergency Make Up Days.  Please note that on School Improvement Planning (SIP) Days students are released early at 11:45 a.m.  In the past, SIP Days were a late start, so this is a change.

Next year’s calendar does not include a schedule of in-person or remote days because ISBE and CDC guidance can change along with positivity rates. We continue to monitor the COVID metrics for our zip codes and we are following all guidance.  When we have the school day structure for next year, we will communicate this to our students and families.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
