Attention Students:
Do you want to be a voice for your school while earning community service hours? Then our newest organization, the Student Advisory Committee, is for you! The committee meets on School Improvement Days from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center, 300 Caterpillar Drive, Joliet. Lunch is provided and is available at noon.
What is the Student Advisory Committee?
The Student Advisory Committee is a diverse group of students from all JTHS campuses that is representative of the overall student body. Led by JTHS Superintendent, Dr. Karla Guseman, the group meets over lunch every School Improvement Early Release SIP Day to discuss district and building policies, procedures, and programs to provide feedback to the Principals, Superintendents, and Board of Education. Topics of research and discussion will be student-led, providing a direct voice to your school.
Community Service
Students will receive five community service hours for their participation in each meeting. Additional service hours will be given for research and group work that takes place outside of the meetings.
Transportation
For students without their own transportation, a shuttle bus to the Administrative Center and back to your campus in time to take the 4:30 p.m. activity bus is provided.
Central/Pathways Shuttle: Departs after early release dismissal in front of the Central Field House
West Shuttle: Departs after early release dismissal in front of Door 5 (Cafeteria)
