The MLK Day of Service Planning Committee is looking for service projects that can be completed at the 18th annual Joliet-Area MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20.
From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will complete the projects at locations throughout the Joliet-area community. If you are a member of an organization or agency that has a service project you would like our volunteers to complete on January 20, submit a project request through the MLK Day of Service Agency Project Submittal Form.
Examples of projects include painting, cleaning, decorating, and organizing food pantries.
Please note that only one agency representative needs to be on-site to open the doors for our volunteers. We will have two assigned project managers at each location who will arrive prior to the volunteers and who can supervise volunteers and provide instructions.
We can also accommodate project requests that can be completed on-site at Central Campus. All supplies necessary to complete the project must be provided by the organization submitting the request. JTHS will provide the space at Joliet Central and the volunteers. Examples include making Valentines for Veterans, packaging hygiene kits, and making blankets for homeless shelters.
Project Submissions are due by Friday, December 6, 2024.
About the MLK Day of Service – January 20, 2025 @ Joliet Central High School
The MLK Day of Service is an annual opportunity for individuals of all ages to work side-by-side completing community service projects at locations throughout the Joliet-area community in honor of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A Hot breakfast and lunch are provided.
