Congresswoman Underwood’s Office is accepting Service Academy Nomination Applications now until November 30, 2023. Rising seniors who are planning to apply to either the U.S. Military Academy (West Point, NY), the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD), the U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO), or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY) require a nomination to apply. Students seeking a nomination from Rep. Underwood’s office must be residents of the Illinois 14th Congressional District (check district here).  
 
Students can find the application and additional instructions online at Military Academy Nominations - FAQ | Representative Lauren Underwood (house.gov). Applications must be submitted via email to IL14.serviceacademy@mail.house.gov.   

A complete application includes:  

• A Current photo  

• High school transcript  

• American College Testing Program (ACT) results and/or College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) results  

• A resume of extracurricular activities and leadership responsibilities  

• Minimum of three letters of recommendation.
