JTHS Families, 
 
Registration for Parent Teacher Conferences begins today.  Parent Teacher Conferences are a virtual opportunity to speak with teachers about grades, attendance, support services, and concerns.  We will send the link to sign up today at 4 p.m. Please be on the lookout for this email.  Additional information is below, including an invitation to the first Critical Conversation Event which takes place this Saturday. 
 
Progress Reports Available Today  
Progress Reports are now available via the Campus Parent and Campus Student portals.  If you need assistance using the portal, contact our Central Campus Family Engagement Liaisons or West Campus Family Engagement Liaisons and they can assist in English and Spanish.  If grades need improvement, please sign up for our free online tutoring
 
Financial Assistance for Electricity, Gas, & Water Services 
The Joliet Township Government Office provides financial assistance for residents if they have a LATE NOTICE for their utility bill (Gas, Electric, and Water).  View the Disconnect Notice Flyer for more information.

Critical Conversation Event – Sept. 23  
Are you passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion? Do you want to participate in authentic conversations with school and community leaders regarding the impact of racism on students, disciplinary patterns, instructional practices, and school policies?  Then join us for the first Critical Conversation event on September 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the JTHS Administrative Center.  More information is available in the Critical Conversation Flyer.  Please RSVP HERE if you can attend. 
 
Early Release School Improvement Day – Sept. 28  
September 28 is a School Improvement Day and early release for students.  Students will follow the A Schedule.  Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Click on the links below to view the attendance calendar.

Partnership Recruitment Event – Oct. 5 

Parents and business/community partners who want to get involved in our high schools are invited to attend our recruitment event on October 5 at the administrative center.  Breakfast is provided.  More info HERE. 
 
Pink Heals – Oct. 16 
Joliet West High School will host the annual Pink Heals JT Volleyball Fundraiser on Monday, October 16.  The Central vs. West cross-town volleyball event takes place in the West Gymnasium with the JV/freshman game starting at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Pre-Game Survivors Ceremony, and then the varsity game.  Doors open at 3:30 p.m. More info HERE
 
JTHS Board of Education Meeting – Oct. 17    
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on October 17 at the JTHS Administrative Center.  Agendas are posted at least 48 hours prior to the meetings.  If you cannot attend in person, meetings are accessible via live stream.  Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon  
arrival before 6:50 p.m.  
 
Trunk or Treat – Oct. 18 
Joliet West’s Key Club invites families and the community to their Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 18 at Joliet West High School.  The event, geared toward younger children, takes place in the senior parking lot, which is located off Glenwood Avenue next to the tennis courts.  There is no charge to attend. The fun-filled event includes candy, games, decorated cars, and more.  We hope to see you there!   
 
Bilingual Parent Advisory Council Workshop – Oct. 19 
The JTHS Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC) invites families to an Educational Supports Workshop on October 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Joliet Central High School Cafeteria.  The workshop will be presented in Spanish with English interpretation available.  During the workshop, attendees will hear from Superintendent Dr. Karla Guseman and educational leaders about the topics of the JTHS Strategic Plan, special services, athletics/activities, college and career readiness and more!  Appetizers, refreshments, and free childcare for children ages 3 and older will be provided.  Complete the October 19 BPAC RSVP Form if you will attend.  For more information about BPAC and the various events available to families, please visit the Bilingual Parent Advisory Website
 
Joliet Region Education Community Connectors Meeting – Oct. 20 
Are you a member of a community or faith-based organization looking for an opportunity to connect with JTHS leadership and the superintendent to align resources, embrace diversity, and support the JTHS Strategic Plan?  If so, then the Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) is for you!!  We invite you to join us for the first meeting on October 20 at the JTHS Administrative Center, 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet.  A hot breakfast is available at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will conclude no later than 10 a.m.  Spanish interpretation is available.  During the meeting, attendees will hear an informative presentation about Joliet Job Corps delivered by Job Corps leaders.  Please complete the JRECC Meeting RSVP Form if you can attend.
