NCAA Eligibility Center Webinar  
Are you a student-athlete dreaming of playing your sport at the NCAA level? Invest in your future and spend an hour on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. Eastern time, understanding the requirements and how to prepare for NCAA certification. Join NCAA Eligibility Center staff, who will walk you through what you need to do to compete at the NCAA Division I, II or III level.  
Staff will be answering questions live during the presentation, so come prepared to learn how to take your game to the next level! Click here to register. 

Harbor Freight Warehouse Ops Intern Job Opening 
Harbor Freight is hiring Warehouse Ops Interns. This paid internship assists the DC Manager with managing, directing, and organizing the assigned operational department and conducts all related administration activities. As an Operations Intern, no two days are ever the same. Interns will work closely with a mentor while learning different business areas and functions within our building. West Fall Play Little Women October 25, 26 & 27  

Joliet West Drama is proud to present their fall play, Little Women, October 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and October 27 at 1 p.m. in the Joliet West High School Auditorium, 401 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet. Tickets are available online or at the door for $10 (adults) and $5 (students). Enter the building through the Main Entrance (Door 1) or Door 5 (Cafeteria). 
 
Midwest Impact Day of Service 2024 Voting Event – Oct. 26 

Join the Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc for the Voting in Violets & Pearls event on October 26. This non-partisan voter mobilization movement aims to empower, educate, and engage our community in the democratic process. Event Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - Early Voting Rally at Bloom High School, 101 W. 10th Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois. 10:30 a.m. - March to the Polls (1.4-mile walk). Will County Route: Starts at Joliet Township Pathways Alternative School,110 Collins Street, Joliet, Illinois, and ends at the Will County Clerk’s Office. On the Road Maternity Event – Oct. 26 
Joliet Township Government and Sharing Connections are excited to bring the first-ever "On the Road" Maternity Event to Joliet, offering essential items to support local families in need. The event will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Forest Park Community Center, 1017 Woodruff Rd, Joliet, IL 60432. During this special event, 50 new cribs and crib mattresses, twin mattress/box sets, linens, and additional items will be distributed to approved participants. There is a $100 access fee per crib or twin set distributed. To register, click HERE.  

Election Day – Nov. 5 
There is no school on Tuesday, November 5, due to Election Day. Remember to vote! 

Progress Reports Available Nov. 8 at 3:30 PM 
Progress Reports will be available through the Campus Parent and Campus Student portals on November 3 at 3:30 p.m. If you need assistance using the portal, contact our Central Campus Family Engagement Liaisons or West Campus Family Engagement Liaisons and they can provide help in English and Spanish. 
   
Veterans Ceremony – Nov. 8 
Veterans and the community are invited to our 12th Annual Veterans Ceremony on Friday, November 8. The hour-long program begins at 2:20 p.m. in the Joliet Central Auditorium, 201 E. Jefferson Street in Joliet. Veterans can complete the online form HERE or contact the Community and Alumni Relations Office at (815) 774-1642 to receive recognition at the event. Veterans Day – Nov. 11 
There is no school on Monday, November 11 due to the observance of the Veterans Day holiday. We thank our veterans for their service to our country. 
 
Youth Empowerment Fair - Nov. 16  
A Youth Empowerment Fair is taking place on November 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 156 S. Joliet Street in Joliet. This collaborative event, featuring multiple community partners, will provide valuable resources to support our youth. The event highlights guest speakers, vendors, free haircuts, and food! This fair is designed to bridge gaps, build connections, and create opportunities for a brighter future.  

Grandparents Raising Children – Nov. 19    
The next Grandparents Raising Children support group meeting is November 19 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center. The group provides fellowship and assistance to grandparents and non-custodial caregivers on navigating the educational and public service aid systems. Board of Education Meeting – Nov. 19   
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on November 19 at the JTHS Administrative Center. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours prior to the meetings. If you cannot attend in person, meetings are accessible via live stream. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m.  
   
Early Release School Improvement Day – Nov. 21  

November 21 is a School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the “B” Schedule. Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Click on the links below to view the attendance calendar.

Central Archives Committee Meeting – Nov. 21 
Are you passionate about JTHS history and the preservation of historical items? Do you want to help give school tours? If so, the Central Archives Committee is for you!!! Students, parents, alumni, and staff are welcome! The group meets at 7 p.m. on November 21 at Central in the third-floor archives area. Enter the school through the Student Center Main Entrance. Students receive community service for attending. Bring the Community Service Form to have it signed. If you have questions, contact Ms. Petronio at epetronio@jths.org
