As a reminder, there is no school on Tuesday, November 11 due to the observance of the Veterans Day holiday. We thank our veterans for their service to our country. Classes resume on Wednesday, November 12. 

Progress Reports Available Today 
Progress Reports will be available through the Campus Parent and Campus Student portals on November 7 at 3:30 p.m. If you need assistance using the portal, contact our Central Campus Family Engagement Liaisons or West Campus Family Engagement Liaisons and they can provide help in English and Spanish. 
 
JTHS Online Tutoring Available for Academic Support 

If Progress Reports indicate that your student could use academic supports, we encourage you to take advantage of the free online tutoring provided by our JTHS teachers at convenient times such as after school and on weekends. To learn more, visit the JTHS Virtual Tutoring Webpage
 
Betty Mahone Joliet Area Black College & Career Fair – Nov 9 
The 29th Annual Betty Mahone Joliet Area Black College & Career Fair is Sunday, November 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1502 E. Mills Road, Joliet. This event offers students and families the opportunity to meet with HBCU recruiters, alumni, and representatives from local colleges and universities. Attendees can explore scholarship opportunities and connect with local community organizations. View the event flyer for additional information. 

Athletic Booster Meeting – Nov. 12  
Do you want to volunteer to help our athletic programs? Then join the JT Boosters! The next meeting is scheduled for November 12 at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Administrative Center, located at 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet. We welcome all families! The JT Boosters raise funds to supplement the athletic budgets, provide scholarships, and promote Steelmen and Tiger Pride. Fundraisers include a golf outing and a Night of Champions event. Central Archives Committee Meeting – Nov. 13 
Are you passionate about JTHS history and the preservation of historical items? Do you want to help give school tours? If so, the Central Archives Committee is for you!!! Students, families, alumni, and staff are welcome! The next meeting is being held on November 13 at 7 p.m. at Central in the third-floor archives area. Enter the building through Door G or J (Auditorium Entrance off Eastern Avenue). Students receive community service for attending. Bring the Community Service Form and have it signed. Hands of Hope Annual Thanksgiving Food Giveaway – Nov. 15 
Hands of Hope will be hosting their Thanksgiving Food Drive on November 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 511 Oakleaf Court in Joliet. Student Volunteer Opportunity – Hands of Hope Thanksgiving Food Giveaway 
Students needing community service hours are encouraged to volunteer for the Hands of Hope Thanksgiving Food Drive mentioned above. Grandparents Raising Children Support Group – Nov. 18    
The next Grandparents Raising Children support group meeting is November 18 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center.  The group provides fellowship and assistance to grandparents and non-custodial caregivers on navigating the educational and public service aid systems.  For more information, view the Grandparents Raising Children Flyer

Mentors Needed for West Winter Athlete Mentorship Dinner – Nov. 18 
The Winter Athlete Mentorship Dinner for senior students is November 18 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Joliet West Cafeteria. Dinner is provided at no charge for participants. If you are interested in attending as a mentor, complete the Mentor Sign Up Form

JTHS Board of Education Meeting – Nov. 18 
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on November 18 at the JTHS Administrative Center located at 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours prior to the meetings.  If you cannot attend in person, meetings are accessible via live stream.  Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m. 

Early Release School Improvement Day – Nov. 20 
November 20 is a School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the “B” Schedule. Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. 

Thanksgiving Break – Nov. 26 through Nov. 28 
Please remember there will be no school from November 26 through November 28. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1. We wish you a joyful and restful holiday filled with warmth, gratitude, and time with loved ones.
