Semester 1 final exams are December 18-20. The final exam schedule for Joliet Central and Joliet West, in English and Spanish, is HERE. If students need help improving their grades, we encourage them to take advantage of our online tutoring.    

West Winter Band Concert – Dec. 10 
The Joliet West Winter Band Concert is on December 10 at 7 p.m. in the West Auditorium.  The Winter Band Concert will feature the Joliet West Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Symphonic Band.  The students will perform a blend of new compositions, concert band transcriptions, and a couple of pieces to put audience members in the holiday mood. The Jazz Ensemble will also be playing some holiday favorites before the concert, starting at 6:40 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you for their final performance of the semester.  

Central Sounds of the Season Winter Concert – Dec. 12  
The Joliet Central Choir and JTHS Orchestra invite families, students, staff, and the community to their Sounds of the Season Concert on December 12 at 7 p.m at the Joliet Central Auditorium. Join this festive kick off to the holiday season featuring popular holiday favorites. Admission is free and open to the public.   

West Winter Choir Concert – Dec. 12  
The Joliet West Choir invites families, students, staff, and the community to their annual Winter Choral Concert on December 12 at 7 p.m. The concert will be held at the Joliet West Auditorium and features music from the Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Mixed Chorus, Ensemble, and choirs from Troy Middle School. Admission is free and open to the public.   

Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) – Dec. 13   
Members of community and faith-based organizations are invited to attend our next Joliet Region Education Community Connectors (JRECC) Meeting on December 13 at the JTHS Administrative Center.  Breakfast is available at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will conclude no later than 10 a.m.  Spanish interpretation is available. Attendees will hear an informative presentation from United Way of Will County and the JTHS Catalyst Program. Complete the JRECC Meeting RSVP Form if you plan to attend.     

JTHS Board of Education Meeting – Dec. 17   
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on December 17 at the Administrative Center.  Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting.  Meetings are live-streamed. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m.   
 
Winter Holiday Break Reminder 
Winter break begins on December 23 and goes on through January 7. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. We wish our families a safe holiday and happy New Year!  
  
MLK Day of Service – Jan. 20 
Students and families can sign up to volunteer at the MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20. The event kicks off in the Central Cafeteria with volunteer check in and breakfast from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m., followed by the Welcoming Ceremony at 8:15, and community service completion at locations throughout the community from 9 a.m. to noon. After projects are finished, volunteers return to Central for lunch and family friendly entertainment. Sign up to volunteer by December 19.
