Progress reports are available today at 4 p.m. via the Campus Parent and Campus Student portals.  If you need assistance, contact our Family Engagement Liaisons.  They can assist in English and Spanish.

Parent Teacher Conferences – Save the Date 
Parent Teacher Conferences take place virtually Oct. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Oct. 21 from 9 to 3 p.m. We will send the link to sign up on Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. Please be on the lookout for this email. 
 
Student Volunteer Opportunity – Neighborhood Cleanup 
There is a neighborhood cleanup Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Student volunteers can meet in front of St. Peter Church School, 310 N. Broadway St. in Joliet.  Bring the Community Service Form with you.  More info HERE. 
 
Critical Conversation – Sept. 24  
Our Critical Conversation Series is 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 24, Oct. 15, and Nov. 19 at the Spanish Community Center, 309 N. Eastern Avenue in Joliet. More info HERE. 
 
College 101 Financial Aid Presentation – Sept. 26 
A college financial aid presentation takes place at Joliet West High School Sept. 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. Students and families from Central, West, and Pathways are invited to attend.  The event is presented by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and includes how to apply for the FAFSA and the alternative application for Illinois.  More info HERE

Real Talk HBCU Virtual Events – Sept. 28 and 29 
Real Talk events were created to provide Black students and their families with the tools they need to start planning for their future. The events take place on Sept. 28 and 29 to connect attendees with Black college reps across the country, financial aid experts with insider tips on finding scholarships, college students who’ll give your students a realistic view of campus life, and Black professionals in tech, sports, and entertainment.  More info HERE
 
Exploring Career Opportunities in Health Sciences Workshop – Sept. 29 
YMCA is hosting a free event for students wanting to learn about the healthcare industry on Sept. 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at JJC Room U-1024.  Pre-register for the workshop so you are entered into the raffle for a $50 gift card.  More info HERE.   

Know Your Community Event – Sept. 29 
A “Know Your Community” event is Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Central Campus cafeteria.  The event is open to the entire community and includes resources from our community partners.  More info HERE. 
 
Pink Heals – Oct. 4

FAFSA/Alternative Application Workshop – Oct. 5 
TRIO and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission are hosting a FAFSA/Alternative Application Completion Workshop on Oct. 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Central.  A list of documents to bring with you and more info is HERE
 
Partnership Recruitment Event – Oct. 7 
Parents and business/community partners who want to get involved in our high schools are invited to attend our recruitment event on October 7 at the administrative center.  Breakfast is provided.  More info HERE
 
Community Conversations with the Superintendent & Board of Education – Oct. 11 
JTHS Superintendent Dr. Karla Guseman and the Board of Education invite you to their Community Conversation Event from 5 to 7 p.m. on October 11 in the West Cafeteria.  The conversation theme is “Meet Principal Parker.” 
 
JRECC Meeting – Oct. 14 
The Joliet Region Education Community Connectors group encourages the use of community and school resources, embraces diversity, supports the JTHS Strategic Plan, and maximizes every student’s potential through a supportive, equitable, personalized, and rigorous education.  The first meeting is Oct. 14 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Breakfast is provided.   
 
JTHS Board of Education Meeting – Oct. 18 
The next meeting is Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours prior to the meeting HERE. Meetings are live streamed HERE. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m. 
 
Trunk O Treat – Oct. 19 
A Trunk or Treat is taking place at West from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 19.  There is no charge to attend. The fun-filled event includes candy, games, decorated cars and more.  Additional Info HERE
