Families and Students:
We thank those who signed up for the MLK Day of Service which will take place on January 20 at Joliet Central. There is no school on this day in honor of the MLK Day holiday. Volunteer check-in and breakfast are from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m., followed by a short Welcoming Ceremony. Volunteer service will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the event concludes with lunch and entertainment from 12 to 2 p.m. We are happy to report that there are over 700 volunteers signed up who will complete service at 30 locations, totaling 2,100 hours of service dedicated to our community!!
Grandparents Raising Children – Jan. 21
The next Grandparents Raising Children support group meeting is January 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center. The group provides fellowship and assistance to grandparents and non-custodial caregivers on navigating the educational and public service aid systems. JTHS Board of Education Meeting – Jan. 21
The JTHS Board of Education invites families and the community to their next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on January 21 at the Administrative Center. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting. Meetings are live-streamed. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign up upon arrival before 6:50 p.m.
Steelmen & Tiger Showcase – Jan. 22
Joliet Central and West invites incoming freshmen and their families to the Steelmen and Tiger Showcase 8th Grade Info Night on January 22 at 6 p.m. If you have an 8th grade student or know an 8th grade student who will attend Central or West next year, please attend this event or share this information.

Early Release School Improvement Day – Jan. 30
January 30 is School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the “B” Schedule. Central, West, and Pathway students are dismissed from school at 11:45 a.m. AVAC students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and Transition Center students are dismissed at 10:45 a.m. Click on the links below to view the attendance calendar.

State of the District Address – Feb. 5
The JTHS State of the District Address is February 5 at Joliet Central High School. The event will begin with a Meet and Greet from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring appetizers, musical entertainment, and community resource vendors. The State of the District Address will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The State of District Address will provide a comprehensive overview of the district’s health, including academic and financial aspects, the 5-year Strategic Plan, social-emotional supports, facilities, activities/athletics, and more. We ask that guests RSVP HERE so that we can plan accordingly.
Community Connections Expo – Feb. 20
Joliet Township High School invites individuals of all ages to attend our second Community Connections Expo & Job Fair! The event takes place on Thursday, February 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Joliet West High School, 401 N. Larkin Avenue in Joliet. Open to the entire community, the Community Connections Expo will feature a Job and Community Resource Fair, food, raffles, musical entertainment provided by the Joliet West Band, informative empowerment session, spirit wear sales, Esports gaming and more! Students will receive 2 Community Service hours for attending an empowerment session.
Will County CED Summer Internship Application Deadline – Feb. 21
There are 147 paid summer internship opportunities available to select Will County School Districts, including JTHS, thanks to a partnership with the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED) and its Will County Summer Internship Program! All internship descriptions and applications are available on the Will County CED Summer Internship Program Website or students can use the direct link to the application. Graduating seniors (Class of 2025) may also apply for these internships. The application deadline is February 21.
Join USF for "College 101" – A Bilingual Workshop Series – Feb 22
USF is thrilled to invite JTHS students to their upcoming "College 101" workshop series on February 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event is open to the community and designed to provide valuable insights for high school juniors, seniors, and their families as they prepare for college success. These interactive, bilingual workshops will be led by USF admissions counselors, financial aid counselors, and College of Education staff.
