There is no school on Monday, March 2 in observance of the Casmir Pulaski Day holiday. Classes resume on Tuesday, March 3.  

Breakfast is Available at School 
As a reminder, breakfast is available at school every day. JTHS provides daily breakfast options at each campus, featuring a variety of delicious choices that meet the guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Students can enjoy a complete breakfast, which includes an entrée, fruit, and milk, for only $2. Cash is not accepted in the cafeteria. Scholarships for Seniors – Application Deadline March 1  
JTHS is fortunate to have generous donors who provide scholarships specifically for our seniors. We encourage all JTHS seniors to apply for the District Donor and District Committee scholarships. The application deadline is March 1. Students can also visit the Scholarship Website to explore opportunities posted on the Community Scholarship Board. Scholarships are organized by monthly deadlines, making it easy to plan submissions. Please review all eligibility criteria carefully before applying. 

Pathways to Professions Career Expo Field Trip – Deadline to Register March 2 
Students can sign up now for the Pathways to Professions Career Expo Field Trip that will take place during the school day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 10 at the Romeoville Athletic & Event Center. Transportation is provided and there is no cost to attend. During this field trip, students will gain hands-on experience and exposure to the many opportunities offered through Career and Technical Education. The expo is a career exploration event featuring businesses and industries from across Will County. Students must sign up through SchooLinks and return the signed Joliet Central Field Trip Form or Joliet West Field Trip Form to Ms. Erika Martinez or Ms. Yvette Justice in the College & Career Center by the deadline of March 2. 

Semester 2 Parent Teacher Conferences – March 5 & 6 
Semester 2 Parent Teacher Conferences will take place virtually on Thursday, March 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, March 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students are dismissed from school at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, and there are no classes for students on Friday, March 6. The early release schedule for March 6 is below.

West Spring Mentorship Dinner for Senior Athletes – Mentors Needed for March 5 
Joliet West Athletic Director Steve Millsaps invites the community to participate in the Spring Mentorship Dinner for senior athletes. During the dinner, the mentor is paired with an athlete to tell their story and engage in conversation. The stories build connections and serve as an inspiration to our students. Every path to success differs, and we hope you can share yours. The Spring Mentorship Dinner for senior athletes is March 5 from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. in the Joliet West Cafeteria. Dinner is provided at no charge for participants. If you are interested in attending as a mentor, complete the Mentor Sign-Up Form

Prom Dress, Suit & Accessory Drive – Donation Deadline March 4 & Giveaway March 7 
The Joliet Public Library is collecting gently used prom dresses, shoes, bags, accessories, and men’s formalwear at their Ottawa Street and Black Road library locations through March 4 during regular library hours. Teens in grades 9–12 are then invited to shop the Prom Dress Drive event on Saturday, March 7 at the Ottawa Street Branch, with VIP access from 10–10:30 a.m. for donors and general shopping from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, view the Prom Dress Donation and Prom Dress Giveaway Flyers. 

Women’s Health Fair – March 7 
The Spanish Community Center is organizing a Women’s Health Fair on Saturday, March 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at St. John’s Academy located at 403 N. Joyful Brunch – Last Day To Purchase Tickets & Sponsorships is March 8  

The last day to purchase tickets and sponsorships for Joyful Brunch 2026 is Sunday, March 8 at midnight. We hope that you can join us for a celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Michael Austin Clark.  The event supports two initiatives rooted in Mike’s commitment to service, education and athletics: the MAC Mentoring Program and the Michael Austin Clark JTHS Athletic Boosters Endowed Scholarship. JTHS Foundation Mary Gaydos Trivia Fundraiser – March 8 
The JTHS Foundation invites you to their annual Trivia Fundraiser on Sunday, March 8, at 176 West Banquets, 1100 NE Frontage Road in Joliet. Doors open at 2 p.m. with trivia starting at 3 p.m. All proceeds benefit the JTHS Foundation and their mission of providing educational grants and scholarships to students and staff. This year’s theme, “Through the Decades,” includes ten rounds of ten questions. Teams are encouraged to dress and decorate their table according to the theme. Cash prizes are awarded to the first and second place top-scoring teams and best-themed table decor and costumes. The cost to participate per team of ten is $200. Table reservations and event sponsorship opportunities are available at jthsfoundation.org/trivia

Upcoming Job Shadowing Opportunities 
Students can sign up now for the Job Shadowing Field Trips to the locations listed below. Transportation is provided and there is no cost to attend. Field trips take place during the school day from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. Sign up through SchooLinks or visit the College and Career Center for a Field Trip Form.

Alianza de Familias Comprometidas a la Educación – March 10 
The next Alianza de Familias Comprometidas a la Educación meeting will be held on March 10 at Joliet Central High School from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be held in Spanish and is open to all families, whether they are new to the group or returning members. Exploring Career Opportunities in Health Sciences – March 12 
The Greater Joliet Area YMCA will host a free workshop for area residents interested in learning more about pursuing careers in the healthcare industry on Thursday, March 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Joliet Junior College, Room U-1024, located at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. Early Release School Improvement Day – March 12 
March 12 is School Improvement Day and early release for students. Students will follow the “A” Schedule. Joliet West to Present Spring Musical “Between the Lines” March 13–15 
Joliet West High School is proud to present its spring musical, “Between the Lines,” March 13 to 15 in the school auditorium at 401 N. Larkin Ave. Audience members should enter through Door 5, the cafeteria entrance off Glenwood Avenue. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, March 13; 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14; and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15. 5Essentials Parent & Guardian Survey – Deadline March 13 
Parents and guardians are invited to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. Survey results provide valuable insights into school climate and organizational conditions that support student success.  Your participation is especially important because schools need 20% of their parents or guardians to respond to receive a survey report. Take the 5Essentials Survey by the March 13 deadline. 

Prom Is Coming! Dates, Dress Resale & Volunteer Opportunities 
Families looking for affordable formalwear are invited to attend the Prom Dress, Suit, and Accessory Resale on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Nail Academy Inn (160 N. Chicago St., just north of the Rialto Square Theatre). Additionally, donations of formalwear are welcome at the Joliet location (160 N. Chicago St.) or the Lemont location (47 Stephen St.), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Students and community members can also earn community service hours by volunteering to help set up on Friday, March 13, from 3 to 6 p.m., and assisting with cleanup on Saturday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Nail Academy Inn in Joliet. View the announcement for more information. 

Grandparents Raising Children – March 17 
The next Grandparents Raising Children support group meeting is March 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the JTHS Administrative Center. The group provides fellowship and assistance to grandparents and non-custodial caregivers on navigating the educational and public service aid systems. JTHS Board of Education Meeting – March 18 (Rescheduled) 
Pursuant to Senate Bill 0243, the Open Meetings Act has been amended to prohibit a public body from scheduling or holding a meeting on the day of any general primary or consolidated election. As a result of this new legislation, the March JTHS Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at Administrative Center. All families and the community are welcome to attend. Agendas are posted at least 48 hours before the meeting. Meetings are live-streamed. Individuals wishing to make public comments must sign in upon arrival before 6:50 p.m. 

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Nights – March 18 & April 29 
We are pleased to offer monthly FAFSA Help Nights to support students and families with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These events are designed to provide hands-on assistance, answer questions, and help families navigate the financial aid process for college, trade school, or other postsecondary options. FAFSA Help Nights will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Joliet Central on March 18 and Joliet West on April 29. Families may attend any session that works best for their schedule. 

Spring Break – March 23 to March 27 
There are no classes March 23 to March 27 due to the Spring Break holiday.  Classes resume Monday, March 30. 

Free Tax Preparation – through April  
The Joliet Township Government Office, in partnership with the Will County Center for Community Concerns, is providing free income tax preparation services for residents whose income was less than $67,000 during 2025 and free to all seniors regardless of income. Junior Wolves Spring Sports Programs at Joliet Junior College (JJC) – April 27 through July 18 
Calling all future Wolves! Joliet Community YMCA and JJC have partnered together to launch an NFL Flag Football League and Junior Wolves Dance Team for youth ages 4 to 14 years old. Whether your student is a seasoned athlete or just getting started, this program is designed to build confidence, develop skills, and create lifelong memories. The Junior Wolves Spring Sports program runs from April 27 through July 18.
