Dear Parents & Students, 
 
Due to mandatory state testing, students follow a special schedule on Wednesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 13. The school-day schedules vary according to grade level and are listed below.

Testing Information by Grade Level 
Information about each day is listed below by grade level.  This includes information about what to bring, where to report, meals and more. 
 
Freshmen - PSAT 9  
Freshmen do not report to school on Wednesday, April 12, with the exception of students approved for audio accommodations.  Students approved for audio accommodations will test on both April 12 and 13 and will receive an email with specifics, including dismissal times. Freshmen not reporting to school can use this day for college visits, community service or completion of past due or upcoming assignments. 

On Thursday, April 13, all freshmen take the PSAT 9. As required by the state of Illinois.  This exam is an indicator of a student’s college readiness in preparation for the SAT and of the school district's progress.   
  
Testing begins promptly at 8:20 a.m. Freshmen report directly to their assigned classroom, which we will communicate closer to the testing date. Students must bring their IDs, calculators, and pencils.  Students are permitted to bring snacks and water that they can consume during designated times. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria upon student arrival, and lunch is available in the cafeteria after testing for students participating in a sport or activity.  

Sophomores – PSAT 10 
On Wednesday, April 12, sophomores take the PSAT 10 as required by the state of Illinois. This exam is an indicator of a student’s college readiness in preparation for the SAT and of the school district's progress.   
  
Testing begins promptly at 8:20 a.m. Sophomores report directly to their assigned classroom, which we will communicate closer to the testing date. Students must bring their IDs, calculators, and pencils.  Students are permitted to bring snacks and water that they can consume during designated times. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria upon student arrival, and lunch is available in the cafeteria after testing for students participating in a sport or activity.  
 
Sophomores do not attend school on Thursday, April 13, with the exception of students approved for audio accommodations. Students approved for audio accommodations will test on both April 12 and 13 and will receive an email with specifics, including dismissal times. Students not reporting to school can use this day for college visits, community service or completion of past due or upcoming assignments. 
 
Juniors – SAT 
On Wednesday, April 12, juniors take the SAT Exam as required by the state of Illinois for graduation. The SAT is a college entrance exam and an indicator of the school district's progress. Juniors report directly to their assigned classroom and must bring their IDs, calculators, and pencils. Testing begins promptly at 8:20 a.m. We will communicate the assigned classroom numbers to students and parents closer to the testing date. Students are permitted to bring snacks and water that they can consume during designated times. In addition, breakfast is available in the cafeteria upon student arrival, and lunch is available in the cafeteria after testing for students participating in a sport or activity. 
  
Students approved for extended time or other accommodations will take the SAT on both April 12 and April 13 and will receive an email with specifics, including dismissal times.
 
On Thursday, April 13, juniors take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) as required by the state of Illinois. Students must bring their fully charged device and power cord to school. The ISA is a computerized test. Students report directly to their assigned classroom and must bring their IDs.  Testing begins promptly at 8:20 a.m. We will communicate the assigned classroom numbers to students and parents closer to the testing date. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria upon student arrival, and lunch is available in the cafeteria after testing for students participating in a sport or activity.

Senior Information 
On Wednesday, April 12, seniors who took the SAT last year do not attend school. All seniors who DID NOT take the SAT last year, MUST take the SAT on Wednesday April 12, 2023, in order to graduate.
 
On Thursday, April 13, all seniors do not attend school. Seniors can use their day(s) off for college visits, college or scholarship application completion, community service or completion of past due or upcoming assignments.
 
Transportation & Bus Schedule
On days when reporting to school for testing, bus riders should arrive at their morning bus stop following the “Upper Class First P/U” schedule. These schedules are linked below.
