Agencies such as food pantries, nursing homes, churches, daycare facilities, and community organizations are invited to submit service projects to be completed by volunteers during the 18th Annual Joliet-Area MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to receive volunteer support for projects like painting, cleaning, decorating, organizing food pantries, facilitating activities, shredding documents, and more. 
 
If you are part of an organization or agency with a service project that could benefit from volunteer support on January 19, please submit your project through the MLK Day of Service Agency Project Submittal Form no later than 3 p.m. on December 15. 
 
Recognizing that MLK Day is a day off for most agencies, each site will only need one agency representative on-site to provide access for volunteers. Project managers from the African American Business Association (AABA) will be assigned to each location to welcome volunteers, provide instructions, and oversee volunteer activities.
