Dear Parents and Guardians:
Graduation day is quickly approaching. Along with this milestone come many activities and end of the year procedures. To minimize any confusion, we compiled this timeline for your reference. Please read this information carefully, adhere to important dates, and follow all procedures to ensure a successful conclusion to this school year.
The Class of 2024 is a special group of students who have accomplished a great deal throughout their high school career. We hope graduation from Joliet West is a memorable moment in your student’s life, and we look forward to celebrating with you.

Wednesday – May 15 – Last Attendance Day for Seniors
Students should copy electronic files they wish to keep to a flash drive or a different non-JT account. All files are deleted at the end of the school year. Graduates do not have access to their JT account after graduation. All school issued devices, textbooks, uniforms, instruments, etc., must be turned in by this date.
Friday – May 17 – Cap, Gown & Ticket Distribution
Caps, Gowns, and Graduation Tickets are distributed. Each graduating student receives five (5) tickets. Final transcript request forms are available at senior check-out. Final transcripts are not sent automatically. One final transcript is sent free of charge; additional transcripts must be requested online.
We will share check-out details once the plans are finalized.
Saturday – May 18 – Graduation Ceremonies at 11:00 am or 2:00 pm
Ceremonies will be held in the Field House. Graduates must report to the Main Gym 1-hour prior to the ceremony for staging and instructions. Ticketed guests are also allowed to enter at that time. Please allow enough time for heavy traffic and parking. We encourage you to travel with your entire party to limit the amount of traffic and ensure adequate parking.
Only students who are on track to meet all JTHS graduation requirements will be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please contact your student’s counselor if you have questions or concerns about their graduation status.
Students receive empty diploma covers during the graduation ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed the week of June 3rd, once we have reviewed final transcripts. Only students who meet all JTHS graduation requirements will officially graduate and receive an official diploma via mail.
We look forward to celebrating your senior.
Sincerely,
