Teachers
Persuant to Sec. 10-21.9 of the Illinois School Code, as of January 1, 2011, all teachers seeking a substitute position in Illinois schools are required to register with the Regional Office of Education and qualify for a "Certificate of Authorization" in the county where they wish to teach.

Paraprofessionals
JTHS is in need of qualified paraprofessional substitutes! In order to qualify, you must have a paraprofessional endorsed educator license with stipulations (ELS-Paraprofessional) issued from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Current Qualifications for Obtaining an ELS-Paraprofessional License
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED AND
- 60 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher education OR
- An associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education OR
- ACT WorkKeys assessment scores: Applied Mathematics - 4; Reading for Information - 4; Business Writing – 3; more information for the WorkKeys tested offered by Joliet Junior College or South Suburban College.
