Testing Information

Joliet Township offers a comprehensive assessment program to meet State and Federal guidelines, measure student achievement and prepare all students for college and careers.  The components of the Joliet Township High School Assessment Program are described below.

PSAT/NMSQT

A co-sponsored exam by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation.  Propels students toward college and career readiness and serves as an entry point to nearly $180 million in scholarship dollars. Vertically aligned to the SAT, allowing educators to measure student progress. Optional exam for grades 10 and 11

SAT

The State of Illinois high school accountability exam for grade 11 students and a Graduation Requirement. SAT is an accepted college entrance exam and measures the college and career readiness skills. 

PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is the State of Illinois High School accountability for grade 9 students. Measure of college and career readiness skills. Given to grade 9 students. the PSAT 8/9 is vertically aligned to the SAT and an indicator for success on the SAT. Identifies AP potential.

ILLINOIS SCIENCE TEST

The State of Illinois science assessment based upon federal testing requirements and given to students enrolled in Biology.

DLM-AA

  • Skills Tested: Dynamic Learning Maps-Alternate Assessment
                           ELA/Literacy, Mathematics and Science 
  • Grade 11

ACCESS

  • Skills Tested: To determine language acquisition
                           Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening
