Social Media Threat Not Referencing Joliet Central High School

Dear Parents and Students,

Late last night we were notified of a threat that is circulating on social media that references a shooting at a Central High School.  We contacted the Joliet Police Department who began an investigation.  The investigation determined that the threat was not referring to Joliet Central High School and that there is no threat to our school as it relates to this social media post.

We thank the students and parents who notified us of the social media post.  It is important to say something when you see something.  Students, parents, and the community should always contact the school if they know of a situation that can impact safety.  There are many ways to notify us such as reaching out to a staff member, calling the school at (815) 727-6740, using the Contact Us feature on the jths.org website, or emailing info@jths.org.  You can also report concerns anonymously to the School Violence Tip Line by calling 1-800-477-0024.

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.  We thank you for working in partnership to keep our school safe.
