JTHS Class of 2020 Spotlight: Hannah Rose Mitchell

Joliet West High School congratulates Hannah Rose Mitchell, Class of 2020, for her recent graduation and achievements both inside and outside of the classroom.

During her high school career, Hannah was a professional USFS figure skater working on triples, as well as a member of the junior varsity and varsity cheer team, the concert choir and the National Honor Society. In addition to all these activities, Hannah was a high honor roll student and has been awarded an academic scholarship.

Looking back at her high school career, Hannah said, “A good memory from my time at Joliet West would be my senior year powder puff game when we fought for our win in the last quarter.”

Hannah also said, “Mrs. Muczynski had a wonderful impact on me. In our conditioning class she would always encourage me, and it helped me perform better. Mr. Stewart also had a positive impact on me. He always pushed his students to work their hardest and was always there for the class whenever needed.”

After high school, Hannah plans to attend the University of St. Francis to major in elementary education. She would like to become a physical education teacher or an elementary school teacher. Hannah also plans to become a full-time figure skating coach to inspire students to work hard to achieve all their goals.

Hannah said, “My advice to incoming freshman would be to keep up on homework because once you fall behind you start misunderstanding the material being taught.”
