The JTHS Board of Education honored the Joliet West student-athletes who placed in IHSA tournaments and competitions during the 2024 Winter Season. 
 
Joliet West Girls Bowling – First Place Champions 
On February 17, 2024 the Joliet West Girls Bowling team won its 2nd state championship in school history with a 12,223 total pinfall. The Tigers cemented their championship by a last game of 1148.  In the IHSA, there are only so many plaques/trophies you can win! Furthermore, these girls were Conference champs (Back to Back), Regional Champs (Back to Back), Sectional Champs (Back to Back) and STATE CHAMPS (last year 2nd place). That is a perfect season of excellence and eliteness.

Joliet West’s Eliana Paramo – Second Place Medalist – IHSA Girls Wrestling 
Eliana Paramo, a senior at Joliet West, has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and leadership as a member of our girl's wrestling team. Eliana's journey in wrestling is nothing short of inspiring, marked by outstanding accomplishments such as a 5th place finish in the inaugural IHSA Girls Wrestling State Championship in 2022, followed by consecutive runner-up second place finishes in 2023 and 2024. Notably, she surpassed the 100-career win milestone this season, a testament to her unwavering commitment and talent. Eliana's impact extends beyond the mat; she played a pivotal role in the formation of our first-ever Girls Wrestling Team and has left a permanent mark on her teammates and coaches with her leadership and toughness. 

Joliet West’s Carson Weber – Third Place Medalist – IHSA Boys Wrestling 
Carson Weber is a Joliet West junior wrestler for the Tigers who has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and leadership as a member of our boy's wrestling team. Last season saw Carson just miss out on a medal. This season, you could see Carson was on a redemption tour. On the season, Weber finished 42-2. The third-place finish was the highest placement for a Joliet West wrestler since 1992.  
 
Joliet West’s Daniel Sanchez – Third Place Medalist – IHSA Speech 
Daniel, who is a Senior and leader on the Speech team at Joliet West, capped off an incredibly successful year for the Joliet West Speech Team with his 3rd place finish at the State Tournament. The team, under the direction of Ms. Kristin Blake, completed an undefeated contest season ahead of the IHSA State Series. The culmination of the season was qualifying four events, two performed by Daniel, for the State competition.
