Joliet Central Students Shine at IDEA State and Regional Competitions with Ozziel Lara Placing Second at State

JTHS is proud to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of several Joliet Central High School students who have demonstrated excellence in the field of Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

This past Saturday, students Ozziel Lara and Atlas Richey represented Joliet Central at the State IDEA Competition held at Illinois State University. Ozziel Lara, competing in the 3D Machine CAD category, earned an impressive 2nd place finish, while Atlas Richey competed in the Intro to CAD category, showcasing strong skills and dedication.

“Both Ozziel and Atlas did an excellent job representing Joliet Central at the state level,” said Central STEM teacher Mr. Dale West. “Their hard work and passion for engineering and design truly stood out. I’m incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”

In addition to the success at the state level, several students also earned recognition at the recent Regional IDEA Competition hosted at Joliet Junior College. Congratulations to:

  • Ellen Munoz – 3rd Place in 3D CAD Modeling
  • Juan Rociles – 3rd Place in 2D Machine CAD

These achievements highlight the strength of Joliet Central’s STEM and CAD programs, and we couldn’t be prouder of the commitment and creativity our students have demonstrated.
