Rodney Martin, a 1994 graduate of Joliet Central High School, has built a distinguished career in ministry and human resources. As Pastor & Director of Employee Relations and HR Operations, Rodney utilizes his expertise to improve workplace culture and inspire those around him.

After graduating from Joliet Central, Rodney earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management from Robert Morris University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from DeVry University. His commitment to professional excellence is reflected in his Senior Certified Professional credential from the Society of Human Resource Management and his Master of Divinity, Summa Cum Laude, from Berkeley School of Theology.

His career highlights include:

• Leading a successful multimillion-dollar IT contract for Prince George’s County, MD (2012)
• Decreasing employee turnover by over 10% year-over-year (2022-2024)
• Boosting manufacturing productivity by more than 25% through recruitment and training initiatives (2016-2017)

Rodney credits his time at Joliet Central for laying the foundation of his success. He reflects, “Looking back on my days as a student at Joliet Central, I can confidently say that JTHS prepared me to succeed in the world. Through various real-world opportunities, I gained a deeper understanding of business and how my JTHS education was instrumental for my future.”
