Congratulations to Joliet Central’s Art and Photography departments for their many awards at the University of Saint Francis High School Art exhibition! Diana Duarte won the grand prize of a $10,000, USF, art and design scholarship for her drawing entitled “Money Buys Happiness,” a self-portrait about consumerism. Esme Bryson won Best in Show in painting for her depiction of birds in gouache.
Congrats to the following Art and Photography students who received Honorable Mentions and to all the students selected to represent Joliet Central High School. Joliet Central students who received an honorable mention are Jackie Colunga, Tommy Jamila, Maria Krumdirk, Mariah Guzman Martinez, Demetrius McCray, Juan Mendoza, Estrella Pantoja, Valeria Patino, Da'siah Spearman, and Vivian Vasquez.
