A sendoff for Joliet West basketball player Jeremy Fears, Jr. will take place on Sunday, March 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 300 3rd Ave. in Joliet.
Organized by the non-profit organization, “Guiding a New Generation,” the sendoff celebrates Jeremy’s selection as a player in the McDonalds All-American Game, one of the most prestigious high school basketball events in the country that has been played consecutively since 1977. This game has featured some of the greatest and most recognizable names in basketball, such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. This nation-wide initiative showcases the best high school talent and is the only event that annually features a complete roster of 24 of the country’s elite rising stars.The McDonalds All-American Game will be played on March 28 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
