Five Joliet Central High School musicians have been selected to the Illinois Music Education Association District I Band, Choir and Orchestra. The students auditioned by submitting a video containing etudes, prepared pieces, and other performance requirements. Thousands of students audition each year for the ILMEA ensembles, and being selected to participate is a very high honor, showing not only their amazing musical talents but also a commitment to their craft.
The District I festival will take place Saturday, November 9th, with rehearsals and performances at Elmhurst University. The music staff at Joliet Central is very proud of these outstanding musicians. Selection as an ensemble performer is a great honor, and having the opportunity to perform at this festival will be a highlight of these students’ musical year.
