As School Psychology Awareness Week comes to a close we wanted to share some mental health resources (in English and in Spanish), as well as important steps adults can take to support marginalized youth.

Joliet West High School to 8th Grade Preview Night on December 7th

All incoming Joliet West High School 8th grade students (class of 2021) and their families are invited to the 8th Grade Preview Night on Wednesday, December 7th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Joliet West High School, 401 N. Larkin Avenue. Please enter the school at Door 5, located off Glenwood Avenue by the Cafeteria.

At the event, students and families can join us for a preview of courses, activities and sports available during the 2017-2018 school year. The preview night is an open house format. Upon your arrival, you will receive a schedule of presentations that you may choose to attend.

December 3: Central – Winter Wonderland: Breakfast with Santa

You are invited to the “Winter Wonderland: Breakfast with Santa Claus” event on Saturday, December 3rd. Doors open at 8 AM​ and close at noon, and breakfast is from 8:30 – 9:30am. Tickets are $10.00 and include breakfast and a picture taken with Santa. There will be crafts for children to make and a raffle table. Donations of hats, gloves and socks are encouraged.


December 8: SIP Day - A and Freshman Academy Career Fair

The Freshman Academy Career Fair will be held on Thursday, December 8th. The Career Fair will ONLY be periods 1 and 4.  All freshman students should attend. 


January 16: 2017 Martin Luther King Day of Service 
On Monday, January 16, 2017, residents of all ages and backgrounds are invited help advance Dr. King’s vision on the Day of Service at the Joliet Central High School Student Center, 210 W. Jefferson St., beginning at 7:30am and ending by 1pm. Breakfast and Lunch are included. Nonprofit organizations are asked to submit their (3) hour project requests to the United Way via fax (815) 723-2814 or via e-mail mike@uwwill.org no later than January 10, 2017.  Volunteers are asked to register via e-mail at ewilliams@cc-doj.org.or call (815) 723-3405Project Request Form
