Over twenty JTHS Students & Alumni awarded Dr. Daniel Gutierrez Scholarships

During the “Degrees Come True” Banquet on May 4th, 2017, the Hispanic Latino Coalition and Familias Unidas Por La Educacion awarded the Dr. Daniel Gutierrez Scholarships of $1,000 each to 25 students, primarily funded by the Silver Cross Healthy Community Coalition, to benefit Latino students living in area codes 60432, 60433, or 60436 who have excelled academically and in community service.
Of the 25 scholarship recipients, thirteen are seniors and six are alumni of Joliet Central High School and two are alumni of Joliet West High School. Congratulations to the following JTHS students and alumni who are the 2017 Dr. Daniel Gutierrez Scholarship winners!

Cheyenne Aguilar (Central senior), Andre Baez Martinez (Central senior), Morayma Barron (Central senior), Heidy Deltoro (West alumna), Nicholas Diaz (Central senior), Freddy Hernandez (Central alumnus), Daisy Hernandez (Central Alumna), Bryant Nunez (Central senior), and Alena Sanchez (Central senior).
