February 2012

Abri Credit Union –
Eligible students must be a graduating high school senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who has been accepted as a full-time student in an undergraduate course of study during the 2012-2013 school year at an accredited college or university and be a member or child of a member of Abri Credit Union.  See your counselor for an application.
Deadline:  April 16, 2012

American Chemical Society Scholarship –
Eligible students are minority students (African-American, Hispanic/Latino and Native American) who are planning to purse a bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology or related majors.  Go to www.acs.org/scholars for information to apply.

American Italian Cultural Society –
The American Italian Cultural Society offers an annual scholarship to a graduating senior in the Will County area.  Eligible students must have academic achievement, write a statement of need, participate in extra-curricular activities, demonstrate citizenship, have strong personal traits and personality and career goals.  Please note that a teacher must be willing to nominate you.  See your counselor for more information

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program –
Eligible students must be high school seniors, plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university for the entire 2012–13 academic year, plan to major in a specified course of study that focuses on Engineering/Technology or select Design and Business-related programs of study, be interested in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries and be a U.S. citizens and have permanent residence in the United States.

Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties Scholarship –
Applicants must be a son/daughter of an owner or a son/daughter of a full-time employee of CAWGC or a son/daughter of a Will/Grundy union building tradesman.  In addition eligible students must plan to attend college full time and majoring in a construction related curriculum.  For more information/to apply go to www.contractorswillgrundy.org.

Eastern Illinois University CTE Scholarships –
Eligible students must be an incoming student at Eastern Illinois University planning to major in a Career and Technical Education program.  Go to http://www.eiu.edu/tech/prospective_scholarships_awards_students.php to apply.

Forest Park Alumni Scholarship Fund: Vivian Ward Pennymon –
Applicants will be considered based on household income, additional scholarships, recommendations, and honors/awards.  In addition, applicants must have a minimum 2.2 G.P.A. and be accepted to a post-secondary school.  See your counselor for an application.

Holly Club: Barbara J. Rakoski Volunteerism College Scholarship –
Eligible students must be a senior boy or girl who will be attending a 4 year college or university who has made significant contributions through volunteer activities.  Outside activities, school groups, work experience, honors and recognitions, and hobbies and special interests are all taken into consideration.  See your counselor for an application.

Illinois Elks Children’s Care Program Scholarships –

AES Engineers Scholarship –

Chicago Chapter Japanese American Citizens League –
Eligible students must be a JACL member at either an individual or student/youth level (if not, they may apply).  In addition they must be enrolled to attend a college, university, or trade school in the fall of 2012 and have been a resident of Illinois for at least one year prior to graduation.  Go to

Children of Veterans Scholarship –
Eligible students must be any of the University of Illinois campuses and have a parent who served in the Armed Forces. Go to

Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln Scholarship –
Eligible students must be direct descendants of World War II veterans, be a graduating senior, must have a 4.0 G.P.A. and plan to attend an accredited community college or a four-year college or university.  See your counselor for a Preliminary Application Form.
Deadline:  Applications must be given to Mrs. Fredrickson or Mrs. Austin by January 27, 2012

Community Services of Will County, Inc. –
Eligible students must be a current high school senior graduating in the spring of 2012, a resident or student of Will County, and planning to attend a college or university in the fall of 2012.  See your counselor for an application.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc –
Eligible students must be African American high school seniors enrolled in the “604” or “608” zip code area, have a minimum 2.75 GPA and have proof of acceptance to an accredited college, university or vocational school.  Go to

Illinois Division of Sons of Confederate Veterans $1000 Scholarship –
Graduating Male or Females seniors who reside in Illinois and enrolling in college for the fall of 2012 are eligible to apply.  In addition, the student must be a descendent of a male who served honorably in the Army, Navy, Judicial, Executive, or Civil Service of the Confederate States of America.  To apply see your counselor for an application.

Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Scholarship –
Applicants must be an Illinois resident seeking an undergraduate degree and have been accepted or enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning. See your counselor for an application.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. West Suburban Chicago Scholarship –
Scholarship opportunities are available for African American seniors attending a high school in Will County.  Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA or 2.5 or higher, must reside and attend a high school in Will County and must attend an accredited two or four year college or university. See your counselor for an application.

Joliet Coalition of Black Trade Unionists Scholarship –
Eligible students must be graduating from high school and have been accepted by a college or university.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. See your counselor for an application.

Students planning to attend JJC can begin applying for scholarships now!  More than  400 scholarships are available for both part- and full-time students.

Eligible students must me an Illinois High School senior, a child or grandchild of a Veteran of the U.S. who served after Sept. 15, 1940, and was Honorably Discharged or who is presently serving in the military, and have taken the ACT or SAT

Illinois PTA - Lillian E. Glover Scholarship Program –
Eligible students must be a graduating senior in the upper 33% of class and preparing to enter an Education or Education-related degree program requiring certification from a state board of education. See your counselor for an application.

Navy ROTC –
You are invited to submit an application for the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corp (NROTC) Scholarship.  The scholarship pays full tuition and fees, provides an allowance for books and a monthly scholarship. Go to

The Junior League of Kane and DuPage Counties, Inc. Scholarship –

Delta Academic Scholarship Program (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) –

Leopold Education Project Scholarship Program –
Eligible students must live in Will County, plan to enroll at an accredited college or university in a natural resource field such as fish or wildlife biology, conservation or management; air quality, botany, conservation education, ecology, forestry, hydrology, soils, pollution control or water quality, and have a 3.0 grade point average. See your counselor for an application.

Martin Whalen Office Solutions Scholarship Essay Contest –
Students must be high school seniors who are enrolled or will be enrolled at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university in the fall 2012.  Students must write an essay describing your vision of how the office of the future will look in 25 years.  Go to
