My name is Scott Laken. I have been a Dean here at Joliet West High School for four years. Previously, I served as a Special Education teacher here in our building for eight years.

As Dean of Students, it is my job to ensure that students are appropriately disciplined for their actions and understand the consequences of those actions. In addition, it is my job to ensure that the building is a safe and secure environment for teachers to teach and students to learn. I encourage students to come talk to me about issues that may have a potential impact on the building. I have high expectations for students to behave here at the West campus. It is my philosophy that the student, teacher, and parent need to work successfully together in order to create a positive learning experience.
