Mr. Mart is a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. In addition, Mr. Mart earned his Master of Arts degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Special Education as well as his counseling certification from Lewis University.  

This is Mr. Mart's ninth year as a counselor and sixth year in the Freshman Academy. During Mr. Mart’s twenty-four years in education, he has taught both physical and special education, with the last twenty-two years spent here, at Joliet West High School. 
 

Mr. Mart is currently the Girls’ Head Varsity Volleyball Coach, a position he has held for fourteen years. Previously, Mr. Mart had coached in a number of other sports which included boys’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, football, softball, and track and field.
