Raider Team:
Raider is the adventure Team for Army JROTC for Joliet West High School. Raider cadets learn survival skills such as Land Navigation, First-aid, Engineering, and Radio Communication. While the cadets are in Raider, they learn good leadership skills and strong communication between fellow cadets. Once to twice a semester, the cadets receive a chance to go on an FTX (Field Training Exercise) in which they test how their skills have improved. All the cadets who go to these FTX's are always thrilled to be there and always have a good time.
Raider is an extra curricular activity which is held after school in the JROTC room. Practice is on select Thursdays from 3:30 P.M. - 5:20 P.M. Once there, the members do PT (Physical Training), working on lower and upper body muscles. After that, Raider Cadets are taught survival skills.
