Academy Roundtable

"Schools provide a powerful context for youth to become engaged in meaningful and relevant decision making.  For students to be involved in meaningful decision making...they must be infused into ongoing planning and implementation of both policies and programs.  Youth must work with adults in equitable partnerships that benefit both students and the school community as a whole" (McCombs, 2003, 98).

 

Academy Roundtable Purpose/Objective

   Collaborate between students and teachers

       -Sounding Board/Communicate

       -Sharing of Creative Ideas

       -Improve Recognition for Academy in building

       -Offer students and staff community service and networking opportunities

       -Provide opportunities for students to network through fun and engaging activities (ie: Bowling and Crazy Olympics)

       -Fundraise to support Academy efforts for scholarships, activities, etc.
