Student Ambassador Program - Sponsored by Provena St. Joseph Medical Center
The Provena St. Joseph Student Ambassador Program is an educational opportunity for high school students to be introduced to various aspects of the medical center and health care careers.
Requirements:
- 15 years of age or older
- G.P.A. of 3.60 or higher
- Recommendation from a school counselor
- Parental consent
- Physician's health consent
Program:
Students volunteer for seven (7) weeks during summer vacation. Each student volunteers one day per week for five (5) hours in an assigned area. Those students who successfully complete the program will receive:
- A letter of recommendation from the St. Joseph Medical Center's CEO to be used for college applications
- Certificate of completion
- Communicate service hours - the average student will earn 40 hours participating in this program during one summer
The application to participate in this program during the Summer of 2011 will be available starting April 1, 2011.
