 Students must pick up an audition packet and sign up for an audition slot on the door of the LittleTheater.

Auditions are: Tuesday September 13th, and Wednesday September 14th. Please see Mrs. Blake for more information.




JTHS Presents the 2017 Spring Musical


March 17th-19th:  
The annual Spring Musical, Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Tickets will be available at http://www.jtwestchoir.org or at the door for $8.00. Fri & Sat., 7pm and Sun., 3pm in the Joliet West Auditorium

The Academy of Arts & Communication is a small learning community where students receive a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares them for success in the pathways of Media Communications, Performing Arts and Visual Arts.

The Academy of Arts and Communication provides students with a comprehensive educational experience. The following opportunities are unique to the Academy of Arts and Communications. Opportunities may be campus-specific or subject to availability
based upon enrollment and other factors.

  • Band, Choir, Orchestra, Speech, Art and Journalism competitions sponsored by the IHSA, Southwest Suburban
  • Conference and/or the Illinois Music Educators Association
  • Fall Play, Spring Musical, Opera Scenes and Variety Show concerts and performances
  • Art Honor Society, Drama Club and Art Club
  • Academy-specific electives such as Journalism, Yearbook, Choir, Band, Orchestra, Art and Drama
  • Dual Credit and AP course offerings such as Interior Design, Fashion Construction 2, and Apparel Merchandising/Design
  • Job Shadowing experiences related to Career Academy
  • Lewis University Academy Day and college/career exploration

Joliet West Vocal Music - Upcoming Events

2016-2017 Season

September 16th:  7:00 pm  Opera Scenes
Opera Scenes is a program that features the Concert Choir performing scenes from various opera.  General admission is $5.00, available only at the door.

October 20th:  7:00 pm  Fall Performance Showcase
The Performance Showcase features the Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, and Philharmonia.  Admission is free and open to the public.

November 30th:  5:30 pm  Songs of the Season Benefit Dinner
The Songs of the Season is our annual holiday benefit dinner at the Jacob Henry Ballroom.  Reservations are required and can be made starting in November.  In addition to caroling groups, there will be a silent auction.

December 8th:  7:00 pm  Winter Choral Concert
The Winter Concert features all the choral groups at Joliet West.  Admission is free and open to the public.

January 19th:  7:00 pm  Jazz/Pop Concert
The Jazz/Pop concert features the Jazz Cats, jTunes, and both Jazz Bands.  Admission is free and open to the public.

February 18th:  Joliet Choir Contest
The 2nd Annual Joliet Choir Contest features area high school choirs competing with their finest repertoire.  This event is open to the public and free admission.

February 23rd:  7:00 pm  Midwinter Concert
The Midwinter Choral Concert features the Concert Choir performing works around a central theme.

March 17th-19th:  Musical
The annual Spring Musical, Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. Tickets will be available online and at the door for $8.00. Fri & Sat., 7pm and Sun., 3pm.

April 29rd:  All Day  Illinois Grade School Music Association Choir Contest
The IGSMA choral contest features young choirs performing and competing.  The event is free to the public.

May 4th:  7:00 pm  Spring Choral Concert
The Spring Concert features all the choral groups at Joliet West.  Admission is free and open to the public.
