My name is Mark Peterson and I am in my 1st year as the SAP coordinator at Joliet Central. I am an enthusiastic member of the PPS team, the sponsor of all the prevention clubs, and the director of Operation Snowball. I also conduct interventions when substance abuse is suspected, coordinate services with local agencies, conduct and coordinate support groups, assist with the development of new programs, and collaborate with community agencies for the YESS program. In the fall, I spend my time on the football field as a coach for Joliet Township High School. When I’m not at Joliet Central I spend all of my free time with my wonderful family. I’m a proud husband and father of 1 son. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, swimming, traveling, going to summer fests, and just hanging out as a family. My personal hobbies include snowboarding, working out, spending time with friends, and playing basketball. If you would like to get in touch with me, feel free to e-mail or call. I’m located at 284-L in the guidance office.

The purpose of this program is to provide prevention activities, conduct interventions when substance abuse is suspected, coordinate services with local agencies, conduct support groups for students at risk, obtain training for staff, assist with development of new programs, collaborate with community agencies and write grants for continued funding.
