This Year's Charity will be the Will Count Children's Advocacy Center.

Established in 1995, the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center protects children who have been sexually and/or physically abused.

Children come to the Center when a report has been made to the police or the Department of Children & Family Services. As soon as the Center receives a report, the Child Advocacy staff contacts the family to begin services.

The Center solicits grants and donations from a variety of public and private entities.

To convict dangerous child abuse predators, interviews of children are conducted by skilled forensic professionals in a sensitive manner.

Medical evaluations for abused children are provided by the Center at local hospitals.

Free counseling is provided for abused children and non-offending family members.

Child advocacy professionals are available for speaking engagements to increase community awareness of child abuse, and for the prevention of child sexual and physical abuse.

The Center helps to keep sex offenders from slipping through our legal system to further prey on the children of our community.

WCCAC is a not for profit agency. Funds are provided by Ecolab, The Exchange Club, Joliet Junior Women’s Club, Illinois Criminal Justice Information, DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services), Illinois Attorney General, Grundy and Kendall Counties, and United Way, and
