A INTERNET QUEST
for Freshmen English Class

Introduction
    Welcome to an exciting study of the Life and Times of William Shakespeare. Since we are going to be reading one of Shakespeare's plays - Romeo and Juliet -  it would be helpful to learn some information about this famous playwright's life and the time period in which he lived and wrote. You will take a virtual adventure back to the Sixteenth Century - A very different time than the 21st century - where you will read and take notes on Internet information as you perform research on one of the following topics:  Shakespeare's Life, The Globe Theater, and Life During Elizabethan England, and The Renaissance Age.


    You will be required to do an Internet Research Project on one of the above topics.  Your final project will include the following:

1.  A Cover Page including: 
     Your name,
     Project Name
     Class
     Teacher
     Date

2.  You should create a "Table of Contents" - listing your
                 Topic
                 I Subtopic
                 II Subtopic
                 III Subtopic
                 IV  Subtopic
3.  Include clip art or graphics from the Internet to enhance your report.
4.  Have 8 attached - "Source/Note Cards"  2 for each sub-topic (a minimum of 8 to 10 facts per subtopic).
5. Each sub-topic report should be a least one page in length with inserted graphics or pictures.
6.  Use at least 3 different Internet sources for your report.
7.  Include a "Bibliography" or "Works Cited Page" page listing at least 3 sources.
8.  Internet Research Report - Typewritten or Power Point report to include
    Cover Page
    Table of Contents
    1 page per subtopic (4 pages)
    Bibliography (Works Cited Page)
9.  Finally, be prepared to present your research report on your assigned day.


Presentation of your research information:  You can choose to present your research information by doing:

    A) Typewritten report and a poster about your topic.  Your poster should include some key facts representing each of your subtopics and pictures, drawings, timeline to illustrate them and to make your presentation colorful and exciting!

    B) A Power Point Presentation. You will need computer diskette to save your Power Point Presentation.  You should include an Introduction (Cover Page), Table of Contents, A separate slide for each subtopic with paraphrased summary of your information, appropriate clip art inserted on each slide, and your Bibliography (Works Cited) page.
