Mission
YESS is a unique collaboration of community services, caring professionals, JTHS, parents and surrounding communities who are committed to empowering students to succeed in school and life.
Goals
1. To create safe and healthy school environments and positive psychosocial climate/culture.
2. Reduce and prevent rates of substance abuse and violent behavior among students through school-based early intervention and prevention efforts.
3. Increase mental health preventive services to reduce the risk and/or delay of emotional behavioral problems as well as identify/refer for treatment/services for those students who already have emotional challenges.
4. Develop and increase the number of preventive and intervention services that are designed to provide activities that enable young children to be ready to learn.
5. Increase academic achievement through the development of a supportive school and community culture that has a strong academic focus while promoting meaningful parental and community involvement and recognizing the social and emotional needs of students.
6. To develop and implement policies that address the safety needs of students, school personnel, and community, implement a formal truancy policy and closely monitor students on probation to thus create effective learning.
