Curriculum
MUSIC
The Joliet Township High School Humanities Department offers a comprehensive
selection of elective courses in both vocal and instrumental music
for all grade and interest levels, performing abilities, and for
those students interested in preparing for a career in music.
Performing music classes are considered to be co-curricular; that
is, they sometimes meet and perform at times outside of the regular
daily class time. The performing groups participate in Illinois
High School Association sponsored activities, in the Illinois Music
Educators' Association sponsored All-State District and State activities,
and in SICA conference music activities. Also, groups regularly
perform many concerts for school and community functions and sometimes
travel to other states or countries to perform.
