September 1, 2016 03:38 PM
Joliet Township High School is currently seeking parents, staff, community members and students to serve as Action Team members to develop action plans for a new strategy relating to culturally responsive education, and faculty/administrative diversity. The new strategy resulted from a Strategic Plan Thorough Renewal that was held on August 26 and 27 where a Strategic Planning Team comprised of parents, students, community members, faculty, support staff, administrators and Board of Education members carefully examined and revised the district’s existing Strategic Plan.
The Action Teams will meet once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates:
September 20, 27
October 4, 11, 18, 25
November 1, 8, 15 and 22.
During the meetings, team members will develop action plans for the new strategy which states: We will, in partnership with families and community, develop and implement plans to deliver a culturally responsive educational experience and expand the diversity of our faculty and administration in order to close the achievement gap.
All meetings will take place at the JTHS Administrative Center, 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet. Dinner will be provided. Action Team members must attend all meetings, including the Action Team Kickoff which will be held on September 13 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the JTHS Administrative Center located at 300 Caterpillar Drive in Joliet
If you would like to participate on the Action Team, please contact Kristine Schlismann by September 8 at email@example.com or call 815-727-6967.
